Removal Procedure 1. Lower the window to the full down position. 2. Remove the door trim panel . Refer to Trim Panel Replacement – Side Front Door ( See: Body and Frame\Doors, Hood and Trunk\Front Door Panel\Service and Repair\Front Door Panel Replacement\Trim Panel Replacement – Side Front Door ) . 3. Remove the radio speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement – Front Door in Entertainment. 4. Remove the water deflector in order to access the window regulator. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement – Front Door ( See: Body and Frame\Doors, Hood and Trunk\Front Door Panel\Service and Repair\Front Door Panel Components\Water Deflector Replacement – Front Door ) . 5. Disengage the door glass to the regulator sash channel clips (2). Separate the door glass from the sash channel (1). 6. Push the window to the up position and tape in place. 7. Loosen the power window regulator bolts. Remove the rear regulator bolt. 8. Lift the window regulator, disengaging the loosened bolts from the door. 9. Disconnect the regulator electrical connector. 10. Remove the power window regulator from the door. Installation Procedure 1. Loosely install the four forward fasteners into the window regulator. 2. Position the power window regulator in the door. 3. Connect the door window regulator electrical connector. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices. 4. Install the power window regulator bolts. Tighten the regulator bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in). 5. Remove the tape from the window. Push the window down to the regulator sash channel. 6. Slide the glass sash clips (2) into the window regulator sash channel (1). 7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement – Front Door ( See: Body and Frame\Doors, Hood and Trunk\Front Door Panel\Service and Repair\Front Door Panel Components\Water Deflector Replacement – Front Door ) . 8. Install the radio speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement – Front Door in Entertainment. 9. Install the door trim panel . Inspection 1. Raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations. 2. Remove the rear wheels. 3. Check the thickness (A) of the inner pad (B) and the outer pad (C). Do not include the thickness of the backing plate. 4. If any part of the brake pad thickness is less than the service limit, replace the rear brake pads as a set. 5. Clean the mating surfaces between the brake disc and the inside of the wheel, then install the rear wheels Replacement 1. Remove some brake fluid from the master cylinder. 2. Raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations. 3. Remove the rear wheels. 4. Remove the brake hose mounting bolt (A). 5. Remove the flange bolts (B) while holding respective caliper pin (C) with a wrench. Be careful not to damage the pin boot, and remove the caliper (D). Check the hose and pin boots for damage and deterioration. NOTE: Do not twist the brake hose and the parking brake cable to prevent damage. 6. Remove the pad shims (A) and the brake pads (B). 7. Remove the pad retainers (A). 8. Clean the caliper bracket (B) thoroughly; remove any rust, and check for grooves and cracks. Verify that the caliper pins (C) move in and out smoothly. Clean and lube if needed. 9. Inspect the brake disc for runout, thickness, parallelism and check for damage and cracks. 10. Apply a thin coat of M-77 assembly paste (P/N 08798-9010) to the retainer mating surface of the caliper bracket (indicated by the arrows). 11. Install the pad retainers. Wipe excess assembly paste off the retainers. Keep the assembly paste off the brake disc and brake pads. 12. Apply a thin coat of M-77 assembly paste (P/N 08798-9010) to the pad side of the shims (A), the back of the brake pads (B), and the other areas indicated by the arrows. Wipe excess assembly paste off the pad shims and the brake pads friction material. Keep grease and assembly paste off the brake disc and the brake pads. Contaminated brake disc or brake pads reduce stopping ability. 13. Install the brake pads and the pad shims correctly. Install the brake pad with the wear indicator (C) on the bottom inside. If you are reusing the brake pads, always reinstall the brake pads in their original positions to prevent a momentary loss of braking efficiency

The same diameter bolt currently on the vehicle should be used and the other set discarded. • PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE BEGINNING THE INSTALLATION • You must use 2-large “C-clamps” or a large vise to contain the elastic potential energy stored in a leaf spring when the center bolt is removed. • The new leaf spring will be placed in the existing spring assembly in a progressive pyramid shape. Example – if your number 1 Spring is 32″ long and the next one is 25″ long, the new Add-A-Leaf Spring should be place between them. • Some vehicles will have a flat helper stack. SEE ILLUSTRATION – DO NOT INSTALL THE NEW ADD-A-LEAF SPRING IN OR BELOW THE HELPER SPRIN(S). Helper spring assembly. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Drain and refill the rear differential with Dual Pump Fluid. 2. Check the tires for proper inflation (recommended cold inflation front and rear is 26 psi) and any variation in tire size or type. 3. Test-drive the vehicle in a parking lot. Make tight, low-speed turns. If the noise is eliminated, return the vehicle to the customer. If the noise is still present, go to step 4. 4. Remove the rear differential assembly (see page 15-16 of the 1997-01 CR-V Service Manual). 5. Remove the torque control differential case, then remove and discard the 30 mm shim and the clutch assembly (see steps 1 thru 10 on pages 15-20 thru 15-22 of the service manual). 6. Remove the thrust needle bearing, the oil pump driveshaft, and the oil pump body assembly (see steps 11 and 12 on page 15-22 of the service manual). 7. Install the new flow collar over the drive pinion shaft. Make sure the tabs of the flow collar align with the oil pump pin. 8. For 1997 models: Assemble the new oil pump (spring, O-rings, piston, and pump body assembly). 9. Align the rear oil pump grooves with the oil pump pin and the flow collar tabs, then install the oil pump body assembly on the differential carrier. 10. Tighten the oil pump body assembly bolts to 12 N·m (8.7 lb-ft). 11. Align the oil pump driveshaft tabs with the grooves of the front oil pump in the oil pump body assembly, then install the oil pump driveshaft. 12. Install the thrust needle bearing with the outer race facing up.
