BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR 1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect blower motor resistor harness connector. Using DVOM, check for continuity between all blower motor resistor terminals. If continuity exists between all terminals, go to next step. If continuity does not exist between all terminals, replace faulty blower motor resistor. 2. Check for open or short in circuits between blower motor resistor and heater control panel. Also check for open or short in wire between blower motor resistor and blower motor. BLOWER MOTOR SWITCH 2000 Dakota, 2000 Durango & 2000-01 Ram Pickup 1. Remove Power Distribution Center (PDC) cover. Using DVOM, check for battery voltage at PDC fuse No. 5 (40-amp) on Dakota and Durango; PDC fuse No. 12 (40-amp) on Ram Pickup. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open in Red wire between battery and underhood PDC. If Red wire is okay, replace underhood PDC. 2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove heater control panel. See HEATER CONTROL PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect heater control panel cable, electrical and vacuum connectors as necessary. Using DVOM, check for continuity between heater control panel harness connector terminal No. 7 (Black wire on Dakota and Durango; Black/Orange on Ram Pickup) and ground. See Fig. 5 . If continuity exists, go to step 4 . 3. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire or Black/Orange wire between heater control panel 2001 Dodge Durango 2000-01 HEATER SYSTEMS’ ‘RWD Trucks & Vans harness connector terminal No. 7 and ground connector located at lower right corner of instrument panel (Dakota and Durango) or behind center of instrument panel (Ram Pickup). 4. Place heater mode control knob to any position except OFF. Using DVOM, check for continuity between heater control panel terminal No. 7 and terminals No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 while rotating blower motor switch. See Fig. 5 . 5. If continuity does not exist at any terminal, replace faulty heater control panel. If continuity exists as specified, check for open in circuits between heater control panel and blower motor resistor. Also check for an open in circuit between heater control panel and blower motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Fig. 5: Identifying Heater Control Panel Blower Switch Connector Terminals (2000 Dakota & Durango Are Shown; Ram Pickup Is Similar) Courtesy of CHRYSLER CORP. Ram Van/Wagon 1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove heater control panel. See HEATER CONTROL PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect heater control panel harness connectors. 1998 – 2000 MODELS 1. Inspect main ground points (refer to SB99*04*S001 for more information). * P6 ground point-body [on the passenger side of engine compartment, between the battery and cruise control actuator (if equipped)]. (Figure Fig. 1 ) * P10 ground point-engine (at the alternator bracket) . (Figure Fig. 2 ) Isuzu: 1998 – 2000 Rodeo AFFECTED VEHICLES:1998 – 2000 Rodeo (UE)/Amigo (UA) models with 3.2L V6 engines NOTE: Please refer to the appropriate workshop manual for the correct diagnosing procedure and/or follow the service procedures outlined in this bulletin for the vehicle being serviced. NOTE: The 1998, 1999 or 2000 Rodeo/Amigo Electrical Troubleshooting Manual can assist in locating the vehicle ground distribution (i.e., ground contact points). * Perform a voltage drop test at the main ground points. * If the voltage drop test fails, then inspect and clean both the bolt and contact point. * Verify and correct idle settings (if needed) as described in the workshop manual. * If the repair procedure on this step solves the high idle condition, then return the vehicle to the customer. If the repair procedure on this step does not solve the high idle condition, then go to step 2 (16 pin Blue Connector). B. Remove P-6/P-10 ground terminal and bolt for ground contact inspection. * Inspect ground contact area for corrosion. * Inspect bolt and thread for damage or corrosion. * Clean the ground area and fastening bolt thoroughly with a wire brush. * Replace bolt if damaged or heavily corroded. C. Install the P-6/P-10 ground terminal and bolt (tighten using hand tools only). * Torque the P-6/P-10 ground terminal bolt to (14 N.m) 10 lb.ft. 1998 – 1999 MODELS ONLY 2. Inspect the 16 pin blue connector, located under the power steering fluid reservoir for corrosion, bent, or damaged pins (specifically for the Throttle Position Sensor). (Figure Fig. 3 )

NOTE: Please refer to Edelbrock Performer Series Carburetor Owner’s Manual for detailed tuning procedures. 1. Due to design, the fuel/air mixture and cylinder charging are very efficient with the CH-6B intake manifold. Generally speaking, the stock jetting for the recommended aftermarket carburetors will not need changing. Specific applications may show an increase in performance through further tuning. 2. Aftermarket distributor curve kits may be used with this intake manifold. 3. Use modified or high performance cylinder heads such as our Performer RPM. 4. The compression ratio should be at least 9.5 to 1 to work properly with Performer RPM camshafts. 5. Installation of aftermarket headers, camshafts or both may lean carburetor calibration. Should this occur, recalibrate with a richer jet INSTALLATION: 1. Use only recommended intake gaskets set when installing this intake manifold. 2. Fully clean the cylinder head intake flanges and the engine block end seal surfaces. 3. Use a factory style valley pan along with the recommended gaskets. 4. Apply Edelbrock Gasgacinch sealant P/N 9300 to both cylinder head flanges and to the cylinder head side of the gaskets, allow to air dry, and attach the intake gaskets. 5. Install the intake manifold and hold-down bolts. Torque all of the manifold bolts in two steps by the sequence shown in Figure 1 to 25 ft/lbs.

Compare the vehicle’s current ECM P/N (from your CONSULT-II Self Diagnosis printout) to those shown under Current ECM P/N in Chart A , below: Chart A – Current ECM P/N’s: Vehicle Current ECM P/N 2000 M/T 23710-7J400, -7J401, -7J402, -7J460 2000 A/T 23710-7J410, -7J411, -7J412, 7J470 2001-2002 M/T 23710-6J105, -6J106, -6J107, -6J108, 6J170 2001-2002 A/T 23710-6J115, -6J116, -6J117, -6J118, -6J180 A. If the ECM P/N in the vehicle matches one of those listed under “Current ECM P/N” in Chart A (above): • Look in the “Vehicle” Column in Chart A (above) and determine the vehicle “configuration” (i.e. 2002 M/T). Make a note of the vehicle configuration and perform ECM Reprogramming , below. B. If the ECM P/N in the vehicle does not match one of those listed under “Current ECM P/N” in Chart A (above): • This bulletin does not apply. Use the appropriate Electronic Service Manual (ESM) to further diagnose and repair the incident. ECM Reprogramming 1. Perform ECM Reprogramming to install the latest available ECM data. • If you are unfamiliar with ECM Reprogramming, click here to link to the “ECM Reprogramming For Infiniti Vehicles” general procedure or refer to Attachment A in the print copy of this bulletin. • For those familiar with ECM Reprogramming, perform the following:
