CAUTION: Vehicle cooling systems are filled with Motorcraft Premium Engine Coolant VC-4-A (in Oregon VC-5, in Canada CXC-10) or an equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A. NOTE: Less than 80% of the coolant capacity can be recovered with the engine in the vehicle. Dirty, rusty or contaminated coolant requires replacement. 1. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly turning the pressure relief cap one half to one turn counterclockwise to the first stop on the filler neck. When the pressure has been released, remove the pressure relief cap. 2. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02 . 3. Remove the front splash shield. 4. Place a suitable container below the radiator draincock. Drain the coolant. 5. Close the radiator draincock when finished. Filling and Bleeding With RADKITPLUS 1. Using the special tool, install the RADKITPLUS and follow the RADKITPLUS manufacturer’s instructions to fill and bleed the cooling system. Filling Without RADKITPLUS CAUTION: Engine coolant provides freeze protection, boil protection, cooling efficiency and corrosion protection to the engine and cooling components. In order to obtain these protections, the engine coolant must be maintained at the correct concentration and fluid level. When adding engine coolant, use a 50/50 mixture of engine coolant and clean, drinkable water. To maintain the integrity of the coolant and the cooling system: * Add Motorcraft Premium Engine Coolant VC-4-A (in Oregon VC-5, in Canada CXC-10) or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A. * Do not add Motorcraft Specialty Engine Coolant VC-2 or an equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M97B44-D. Mixing coolants may degrade the coolant’s corrosion protection. * Do not add alcohol, methanol, brine or any engine coolants mixed with alcohol or methanol antifreeze. These can cause engine damage from overheating or freezing. * Do not mix with recycled coolant unless it meets the requirement of specification ESE-M97B44-A. Not all coolant recycling processes meet this specification. Use of such a coolant may harm the engine and cooling system components. 1. Install the front splash shield. 2. Lower the vehicle. 3. Fill the degas bottle with the correct engine coolant mixture. 4. Install the pressure relief cap. 5. Move the temperature blend selector to the full warm position. 6. WARNING: Do not stand in line with or near the engine cooling fan blade when revving the engine. Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature. 7. Add the correct coolant mixture to the degas bottle until the coolant level is between the COOLANT FILL LEVEL marks. 8. Turn off the engine and allow the cooling system to cool. Recheck the coolant level and fill the cooling system to the FULL mark on the degas bottle. 9. WARNING: Do not stand in line with or near the engine cooling fan blade when revving the engine. Repeat Steps 3 through 8 until the reservoir level is OK. Bleeding Without RADKITPLUS 1. Bleed the cooling system as follows: * Select the maximum heater temperature and blower motor speed settings. Position the control to discharge air from the A/C vents in the instrument panel. * WARNING: Do not stand in line with or near the engine cooling fan blade when revving the engine. Start the engine and allow it to idle. While the engine is idling, feel for hot air from the A/C vents. * CAUTION: If the air discharge remains cool and the engine coolant temperature gauge does not move, the engine coolant level is low in the engine and must be filled. Stop the engine, allow it to cool and fill the cooling system. Start the engine and allow it to idle until the normal operating temperature is reached. Hot air should discharge from the A/C vents. The engine coolant temperature gauge should maintain a stabilized reading in the middle of the NORMAL range and the upper radiator hose should feel hot to the touch. * Shut the engine off and allow it to cool. * Check the engine for coolant leaks. * Check the engine coolant level in the degas bottle and fill it as necessary.

ADJUSTMENTS WINDOWS Remove door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Loosen bolts holding window to regulator. Raise window fully, seating window in frame. Tighten bolts. Install door trim panel. TROUBLE SHOOTING POWER WINDOWS On Dakota, inspect circuit breaker No. 20 (20-amp) in junction block. On Durango inspect circuit breaker No. 21 (25-amp) in junction block. On all models, junction block is located on left end of instrument panel. Inspect fuse No. 9 (40-amp on Dakota, 50-amp on Durango) in Power Distribution Center (PDC). PDC is located in left front corner of engine compartment. Inspect power window system ground circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . SYSTEM TESTS ALL WINDOWS INOPERATIVE Dakota 1. Check circuit breaker for power window system. See TROUBLE SHOOTING . Replace circuit breaker as necessary. If circuit breaker is okay, go to next step. 2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove driver’s front power window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 3 (Black wire) at driver power window switch wiring harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire between driver power window 2000 Dodge Durango 2000 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT’ ‘Power Windows – Dakota & Durango 2000 Dodge Durango 2000 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT’ ‘Power Windows – Dakota & Durango switch connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . 3. Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 5 (Tan wire) at driver’s power window switch wiring harness connector. If battery voltage is present, check driver power window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If battery voltage is not present, repair open Tan wire between driver power window switch connector and ignition switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. Durango 1. Check circuit breaker for power window system. See TROUBLE SHOOTING . Replace circuit breaker as necessary. If circuit breaker is okay, go to next step. 2. Remove head unit (Consult with owner’s and shop manual) 2. Disconnect factory wiring harness from head unit 3. Connect EGO DASH TS Wiring Harness to the head unit Wiring Harness A Locate
amplifier (Most Lexus ? behind glove box; Toyota Land Cruiser ? under drivers or passengers seat). Connect male and female 16-pin connectors between amplifier and the vehicle’s wiring harness. Connect Yellow Mute wire: Lexus ? pin 7 on the 18-pin connector; Land Cruiser ? pin 3 on the 25-pin connector (amplifier). Connect Blue Ignition wire (male bullet connector): Lexus ? pin 16 on the 16-pin connector (female bullet connector); Land Cruiser ? pin 20 on the 25-pin connector (amplifier). Wiring Harness B The normal location of the mute is pin 4 (x) on the 6-pin connector. However, on some rare factory head units, the mute pin might be pin 5. The mute pin on the head unit should show ~ 5 volts when the head unit is turned on. Wiring Harness C Connect the male and female ISO connectors, if they are not already connected. Splice the gray wires (only!) into the loudspeaker wiring, going from the amplifier to the center or door loudspeaker. The 2 female bullet connectors go to the loudspeaker. The 2 male bullet connectors go to the amplifier. The 4 white wires are not used! Connect the yellow mute (“Mute Signal”) cable (male bullet connector) on the ISO Harness coming from the EGO DASH TS brain to “Mute 2″ (white cable – female bullet connector), if not already connected. Connect EGO DASH TS Wiring Harness to the vehicle’s wiring harness (One or more of the connectors might be not used, depending on the vehicle’s configuration) 5. Engine Fan Runs Constantly If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the engine fan running constantly with code P2073(004) Electric fan for engine & AC, open circuit; this may be caused by the wiring harness between the ECU and the engine fan or the engine control unit fan end stage malfunctioning. To resolve, perform the below procedure. Note: Only vehicles as outlined in Service Campaign Bulletin No. 2003110006 are affected, see vehicle range shown. When performing Service Campaign Bulletin No. 2003110006 only, the engine ECU does not need to be exchanged. All engine ECUs exchanged under warranty for the above condition must be accompanied by the freeze frame data for the respective DTC. Claims submitted without this information will be debited back to the dealer Remedy: 1) Check wiring harness between engine ECU connector (pin 39) and engine fan connector (pin 4) for continuity. IF OK, proceed as follows. 2) Replace engine control unit (AR07.08-P-7008P) 3) Install adapter harness a. Remove lower underbody panel b. Disconnect engine wiring harness plug from engine fan C. Connect adapter wiring harness between fan connector and engine wiring harness. d. Secure adapter wiring harness with loom ties (Figure 1). e. Secure adapter wiring harness plug to engine fan (Figure 2)

DIAGNOSIS NOTE: You must complete the diagnosis before attempting any CVT repairs. 1. Civic Hybrid and Insight only: Make sure the IMA battery level gauge shows at least three quarters charged. If you need to increase the IMA charge, do this: • Insight only: Remove the EPS (electronic power steering) fuse from the under-hood fuse/relay box. •Start the engine, and run it at 3,500 rpm until the battery level gauge shows at least three quarters charged. • Insight only: Reinstall the EPS fuse. 2. Connect the HDS to the vehicle’s DLC, then turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and turn on the HDS. 3. At the HDS screen prompts, enter the VIN (if prompted) and the odometer reading. 4. At the SELECT MODE screen, select HONDA SYSTEMS . 5. At the SYSTEM SELECTION menu, select A/T . 6. From the MODE MENU, select SNAPSHOT . 7. Set these snapshot points: •Trigger type: Manual •Recording time: 2 minutes •Trigger point: -60 seconds 8. Find a flat stretch of road where you and an assistant can drive for 2 minutes at a steady vehicle speed. 9. Make sure the engine is at normal operating temperature, then using the appropriate vehicle chart below, select a vehicle speed (40, 50, 60, 70, or 75 mph) for your 2-minute snapshot. NOTE: Do not exceed the posted speed limits. Civic GX Civic HX Civic Hybrid Insight 10. Accelerate to the vehicle speed you selected, then have your assistant tap the camera icon on the HDS to trigger the snapshot. Do your best to maintain the vehicle speed and the throttle position during the snapshot. NOTE: Turn the A/C off before you capture the snapshot. 11. When the 2-minute snapshot is finished, have your assistant follow the screen prompts to save the data.

step 1: Preparing the wiring harness Get a wiring harness or adapter that will allow the car radio wiring to plug into the back of the new radio. These can be found at Walmart for $4.99. Make sure that the plug is compatible with your car (check the list on the back of the box). Have shown the back of the new radio – the black set of pins is where the included black plug will go to. The free wires on the black plug provided with the new audio system will be connected to an adapter that will plug into the car wiring. For the Toyota Corolla 1995 wagon, the wiring diagram is as shown below. Your car may differ substantially from this step 2: Connecting the wires Connect the wires from the plug that came with the new radio to the wiring harness adapter that you purchased separately. Twist the correct wires together and then solder them (or use wire nuts if you dot have soldering equipment). Cover the exposed wire with electricians tape or heat seal tape. Attached is another table on how you connect your Toyota wiring adapter to the radio plug. Please, do remember that your radio and car will differ a bit step 3: Removing the old radio Remove the factory installed radio (the instructions apply only for Corollas from 95-98). Remove the two screws below the panel. Have shown a picture with the location of these screws. Remove the control knobs for the AC and the fan, etc. These come off pretty easily with a gentle pull. Use a thin blade (metal spatula) to probe approximately 2/3rd of the way up and try to pry the sides out. The metal blade will disengage the clip on each side. Took a bit of gentle effort but it did pop out. The location of these clips is just below the vents. Lift the panel up, reach under it to carefully remove the plugs on the right hand side that connect the defroster, the clock and the hazard flasher. The plugs can be removed by squeezing a release tab on the plug and then gently pulling them apart. Remove the radio – two pairs of screws on each side of the radio hold it in place. Remove these (and hold onto them because you will need them later on) and then slide the radio out.

Honda Door Panel 96-00 Civic REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Remove the screw from behind the interior door handle Slide out the door handle trim as shown Removing the door panel from the passenger side door View of the inside of the door, panel removed 1. Remove the screw from the door handle trim. 2. Slide the handle assembly forward and out to access the lock rod clip. 3. Release the clip 4. Disconnect the door lock switch 5. Remove the door opener handle assembly. 6. Carefully pry at the small opening on the bottom of the speaker grill. 7. Remove the speaker grille. 8. Remove the speaker mounting screws. 9. Detach the electrical connector and remove the speaker. 10. Remove the screws in the armrest. 11. Remove the center from the trim clip at the upper front of the door panel and remove the clip. 12. Using a suitable trim panel removal tool, unsnap the door panel from the door frame. 13. Carefully lift the door panel up and away from the door frame. To install: 14. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Honda Civic/Del Sol 1996-2000 Electric Window Motor REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 1. Remove the regulator from the door assembly. 2. Except for the rear doors, drill a hole through the regulator sector gear and backplate. Install the bolt and nut to lock the sector gear in position. Be careful not to drill a hole closer than 7/ 16 in. (11mm) from the edge of the sector. Also, do not drill through the lift arm attaching portion of the sector gear, or the joint integrity will be jeopardized. 3. Drill out the ends of the motor attaching rivets using a 1/ 4 in. (6mm) bit. 4. Remove the motor and the remaining portions of the rivets from the regulator. Except for the rear doors, one rivet will not be accessible until assembly. Regulator and motor assembly—except rear doors Secure the rivets by collapsing the rivet ends using a ball peen hammer To install: 5. Position the new motor to the regulator. With the aid of an assistant, install new rivets by collapsing or crushing the rivet ends using a ball peen hammer. 6. Except for the rear doors, once two of the three rivets have been installed, remove the bolt securing the sector gear to the backplate, then use an appropriate electrical source (such as the vehicle’s window motor harness) to rotate the regulator, providing access to the remaining rivet. 7. Except for the rear doors, use a flat nosed rotary file to grind off one sector gear tooth from the side which does not contact the driven gear. This is necessary to reach the remaining rivet. Remove the old rivet, then install the remaining new rivet. 8. Install the regulator to the door assembly.
