ADJUSTMENTS WINDOWS Remove door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Loosen bolts holding window to regulator. Raise window fully, seating window in frame. Tighten bolts. Install door trim panel. TROUBLE SHOOTING POWER WINDOWS On Dakota, inspect circuit breaker No. 20 (20-amp) in junction block. On Durango inspect circuit breaker No. 21 (25-amp) in junction block. On all models, junction block is located on left end of instrument panel. Inspect fuse No. 9 (40-amp on Dakota, 50-amp on Durango) in Power Distribution Center (PDC). PDC is located in left front corner of engine compartment. Inspect power window system ground circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . SYSTEM TESTS ALL WINDOWS INOPERATIVE Dakota 1. Check circuit breaker for power window system. See TROUBLE SHOOTING . Replace circuit breaker as necessary. If circuit breaker is okay, go to next step. 2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove driver’s front power window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 3 (Black wire) at driver power window switch wiring harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire between driver power window 2000 Dodge Durango 2000 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT’ ‘Power Windows – Dakota & Durango 2000 Dodge Durango 2000 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT’ ‘Power Windows – Dakota & Durango switch connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . 3. Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 5 (Tan wire) at driver’s power window switch wiring harness connector. If battery voltage is present, check driver power window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If battery voltage is not present, repair open Tan wire between driver power window switch connector and ignition switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. Durango 1. Check circuit breaker for power window system. See TROUBLE SHOOTING . Replace circuit breaker as necessary. If circuit breaker is okay, go to next step. 2. The distinguishing characteristic of this condition is that it likely will have been present since new, and is typically noticed within the first 161-322 km (100-200 mi). The noise may often be diagnosed as a collapsed lifter . Additionally, the noise may be present at cold start and appear to diminish and then return as the engine warms to operating temperature. This noise is different from other noises that may begin to occur at 3219-4828 km (2000-3000 mi). Engine Fan Runs Constantly If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the engine fan running constantly with code P2073(004) Electric fan for engine & AC, open circuit; this may be caused by the wiring harness between the ECU and the engine fan or the engine control unit fan end stage malfunctioning. To resolve, perform the below procedure. Note: Only vehicles as outlined in Service Campaign Bulletin No. 2003110006 are affected, see vehicle range shown. When performing Service Campaign Bulletin No. 2003110006 only, the engine ECU does not need to be exchanged. All engine ECUs exchanged under warranty for the above condition must be accompanied by the freeze frame data for the respective DTC. Claims submitted without this information will be debited back to the dealer Remedy: 1) Check wiring harness between engine ECU connector (pin 39) and engine fan connector (pin 4) for continuity. IF OK, proceed as follows. 2) Replace engine control unit (AR07.08-P-7008P) 3) Install adapter harness a. Remove lower underbody panel b. Disconnect engine wiring harness plug from engine fan C. Connect adapter wiring harness between fan connector and engine wiring harness. d. Secure adapter wiring harness with loom ties (Figure 1). e. Secure adapter wiring harness plug to engine fan (Figure 2)

Remove head unit (Consult with owner’s and shop manual) 2. Disconnect factory wiring harness from head unit 3. Connect EGO DASH TS Wiring Harness to the head unit Wiring Harness A Locate
amplifier (Most Lexus ? behind glove box; Toyota Land Cruiser ? under drivers or passengers seat). Connect male and female 16-pin connectors between amplifier and the vehicle’s wiring harness. Connect Yellow Mute wire: Lexus ? pin 7 on the 18-pin connector; Land Cruiser ? pin 3 on the 25-pin connector (amplifier). Connect Blue Ignition wire (male bullet connector): Lexus ? pin 16 on the 16-pin connector (female bullet connector); Land Cruiser ? pin 20 on the 25-pin connector (amplifier). Wiring Harness B The normal location of the mute is pin 4 (x) on the 6-pin connector. However, on some rare factory head units, the mute pin might be pin 5. The mute pin on the head unit should show ~ 5 volts when the head unit is turned on. Wiring Harness C Connect the male and female ISO connectors, if they are not already connected. Splice the gray wires (only!) into the loudspeaker wiring, going from the amplifier to the center or door loudspeaker. The 2 female bullet connectors go to the loudspeaker. The 2 male bullet connectors go to the amplifier. The 4 white wires are not used! Connect the yellow mute (“Mute Signal”) cable (male bullet connector) on the ISO Harness coming from the EGO DASH TS brain to “Mute 2″ (white cable – female bullet connector), if not already connected. Connect EGO DASH TS Wiring Harness to the vehicle’s wiring harness (One or more of the connectors might be not used, depending on the vehicle’s configuration) 5. Record the DTC Failure Records. 4. Clear the DTC. 5. Select TCC Brake Switch on the scan tool. 6. Disconnect the TCC brake switch connector. 7. Using the J 35616 connector test adapter kit, install a fused jumper wire between terminals A and B of the TCC brake switch connector. Did the TCC brake switch status change from Open to Closed? — Go to Step 5 Go to Step 3 3 1. Remove the IGN 1 fuse. 2. Inspect the fuse for an open. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Is the fuse open? — Go to Step 4 Go to Step 6 4 Important: The condition that affects this circuit may exist in other connecting branches of the circuit. Refer to Power Distribution Schematics in Wiring Systems for complete circuit distribution. Test the power feed circuit (CKT 1039) of the TCC brake switch for a short to ground. Correction 1. Visually inspect the tires and the wheels. Inspect for evidence of the following conditions and correct as necessary: 2. Set the tire pressure to 30 psi (205 kPa) COLD. Subject: Shake/Vibration in Steering Wheel, Floor, Seat at Highway Speeds on Smooth Roads (Diagnose/Balance Tires/Wheels) Models: 1998-2005 Buick Park Avenue, Park Avenue Ultra 2000-2005 Buick LeSabre 1998-2004 Cadillac Seville (SLS, STS) 2000-2005 Cadillac DeVille (DTS only) 2001-2003 Oldsmobile Aurora 2000-2005 Pontiac Bonneville (17″ Tires only) • Missing balance weights • Bent rim flange • Irregular tire wear • Incomplete bead seating • Tire irregularities • Mud/ice build-up in wheel • Stones in the tire tread © 2009 General Motors Corporation. All rights reserved 3. Road test the vehicle with the Electronic Vibration Analyzer (EVA) essential tool for a sufficient distance on a known, smooth road surface to duplicate the condition. Record the Hertz (Hz) reading as displayed by the EVA onto the tire data worksheet found at the end of this bulletin. This should be done after a tire break-in period of at least 10 miles (16 km) at 45 mph (72 km/h) or greater, in order to eliminate any possible tire flat-spotting. 4. If the road test indicates a shake/vibration still exists, check the imbalance of each tire/wheel assembly on a known, calibrated, off-car dynamic balancer. If any assembly calls for more than ¼ ounce on either rim flange, remove all balance weights and rebalance to as close to zero as possible. Important: Some GM dealers may have a Hunter GSP9700 Road Force Balancer, or a Coats XR1850 Runout Balancer. Either will simplify Step 5 by not requiring dial indicators. If a Hunter GSP9700 machine is available, it may also be used to measure the radial force of the tire/wheel assembly. A guideline here is 18 lbs or less. 5. While on the balancer, measure wheel runout. If radial or lateral runout exceeds .020 in (0.50 mm) for aluminum wheels (.030 in (0.76 mm) for steel wheels), replace the wheel. 6. After confirming wheel balance and wheel runout, if any changes were made, road test the vehicle again. 7. If the smooth road shake/vibration still exists: Important: THE CONTROL ARMS SHOULD ONLY BE INSTALLED ON VEHICLES IF, AFTER THE TIRE AND WHEEL DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIRS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED, THE VIBRATION CONDITION STILL EXISTS. 8. Replace both lower control arms on vehicles built prior to the following VIN breakpoints. On Aurora, Bonneville, DeVille, Park Avenue, Park Avenue Ultra and Seville models, a newly developed hydro-bushing lower control arm with improved damping characteristics has been released. This control arm is not used on the LeSabre. The new lower control arms may provide an incremental improvement to the vehicle ride. Customers who have become “tuned in” to the shake condition may still feel some shake in the vehicle after the new lower control arms are installed. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement in SI (refer to the Parts Information table below for SI document ID numbers) . Important: The completed worksheet must be attached to the hard copy of the repair order. • If a Hunter GSP9700 Road Force/Balancing machine is used, record radial force variation (RFV) on the worksheet at the end of this bulletin. If one or more of the tire/wheel assemblies read more than 18 lbs, match mount the tire to the wheel to get below 18 lbs. Readings of 12 lbs or less are preferable for sensitive customers. • If a Coats XR1850 Runout/Balancing Machine is used, record radial runout of the tire/wheel assemblies on the worksheet at the end of this bulletin. If one or more of the tire/wheel assemblies are more than .040, match mount the tire to the wheel to get below .040. Readings of .030 inch or less are preferable for sensitive customers. • If the RFV or runout cannot be reduced to an acceptable level, replace the affected tire(s) under the guidelines of the GM Tire Warranty. • The screened tire program is only available for the General branded tires used on the Buick LeSabre. Complete the tire request form at the end of this bulletin and fax to Continental/General. • Road test the vehicle to ensure the shake/vibration has been eliminated

Cause This condition may be caused by a loose connection at the display monitor cable connectors. These connectors are located at the lower rear part of both front seats. Two cables are routed to the display monitor in each seat. Correction Do This Don’t Do This Install display monitor cable connector clamps. Do Not replace the DVD system display monitor. Important: A number of headrest monitors have been replaced under warranty and in many cases, no trouble was found by the supplier when these units were analyzed. Therefore, technicians should be checking for loose connections and installing cable connector clamps to ensure a positive and robust connection. Technicians are to install a video cable connector clamp on each cable connector located under each front seat. A total of four cable connector clamps, P/N 19159659, are required for each vehicle. The illustration above shows a pair of display monitor cable connectors without the cable clamps installed.

1. Remove the differential case. For additional information, refer to Differential Case in this section. 2. NOTE: The differential bearings need not be removed to overhaul the Ford limited slip differential. If bearing removal is required, for additional information, refer to Differential Case in this section. NOTE: The anti-lock speed sensor ring cannot be reused once removed. Remove the differential pinion shaft lock bolt and remove the differential pinion shaft. ? If required, remove the ring gear and anti-lock speed sensor ring. 3. NOTE: This tool does not have the 1/2-inch drive hole. Install the special tool in a suitable vise. 2003 F-Super Duty 250-550/Excursion Workshop Manual 5. Install the special tool in the bottom side gear bore. ? Apply a small amount of grease to the centering hole of the special tool. 6. Install the nut in the upper differential side gear. Hold the nut in position while installing the hex screw. Tighten the hex-head screw until contact is made with the Step Plat 2003 F-Super Duty 250-550/Excursion Workshop Manual 7. Insert a suitable dowel bar in the hole of the nut. Tighten the forcing screw to force the differential side gear away from the differential pinion gears. The dowel bar is used to keep the nut from turning when the forcing screw is tightened. NOTE: Differential pinion thrust washers cannot be removed independently of the differential pinion gears and so must be removed simultaneously with the differential pinion gears. Insert the special tool in the pinion shaft bore and turn the differential case to “walk” the differential pinion gears and differential pinion thrust washers out to the differential case windows. 9. Remove the differential pinion gears and differential pinion thrust washers. 10. Remove the differential side gears and differential clutch packs and tag them RIGHT and LEFT with the shim
