Removing the Door Panel Coverings 1. For ease of installation, do both sides at the same time. 2. Roll the windows to approximately 1/2 open, and so the crank handle is in the Down Position. With either the Crank Spring Removal Tool, or a flat Screwdriver, remove the spring, located in a slot on the back of the crank. 3. Remove the cover plate for the remote-control mirror, which is held in place by 3 spring clips. Remove by gently pulling the front corner of the cover out, and then slide the cover back. 4. Remove the door Pull-handle cover, by inserting a screwdriver into the access hole on the bottom of the handle, and using the screwdriver as a lever, pop off the handle cover. 5. Remove the button covering a retaining screw in the interior door latch backing plate. 6. Remove the 8 Torx™ retaining screws around the perimeter of the door panel, and the single Torx™ retaining screw in the interior door latch. 7. Remove the 2 hex bolts in the door handle. 8. Gently lift the panel upwards, to disengage the window weather-strip molding. 9. Remove the Door Latch Trim Panel, be sure to unplug the Power Lock Switch, and remember how the wire was run. 10. Remove the interior door latch, by gently pulling out on the front corner, which is held in by a plastic compression spring. 11. Remove the Foam Arm Rest bolster, by unclipping the 4 plastic compression clips and the clip fasteners.. 12. Remove the 4 Door Speaker screws, and disconnect the speaker. 13. Gently remove the closed cell Foam Cover from the doorframe, by pulling out, while cutting the rubber cement around the cover. Remove all but the front edge of the cover. This cover tears very easily, so use extreme care. B. Removing the Manual Window Regulator 1. Temporarily re-attach the crank handle, and roll the window so that clamps (6, 7) on window are accessible through the voids in the door frame. 2. Loosen the glass clamp nuts (or bolts). 3. Roll the window all the way up, and lock in place by inserting a screwdriver into the small access hole at the top of the doorframe. 4. Remove the 4 Hex bolts (1, 2, 3) Before removing the last bolt (4), take up the weight of the glass, and remove the last bolt. Gently let the glass rest on the screwdriver. 5. Remove the manual regulator and tracks. C. Installing the Electric Window Regulator 1. Align and install the Hex bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, and nut 5) 2. Loosen the glass clamp nuts (or bolts). 3. Gently let the glass rest in the Clamps. 4. Lightly tighten the glass clamp nuts (or bolts).

The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the “Accessory Installation Practices” document. This document covers such items as:- • Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). • Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). • Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). • Electrical Component Visassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document. 1. Vehicle Disassembly. (a) Remove the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-1) (1) Protect the fender before starting. (2) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool removing the cable. (b) Remove the glove box under-dash cover. (Fig. 1-2) (c) Remove the passenger’s step cover. (Fig. 1-4) (1) Remove one nut securing the cowl cover. (e) Remove one screw and one bolt from the glove box assembly. (Fig. 1-5) (f) Remove the glove box assembly. (Fig. 1-6) (1) Open the glove box door and remove three screws securing the glove box assembly. (2) Disconnect the trunk opener cancel switch from the glove box assembly if equipped. For vehicles with Smart Entry, the disassembly process ends on Step f. Go to Section 5. For vehicles without Smart Entry, continue the disassembly process. FOR VEHICLES WITHOUT SMART ENTRY SYSTEM ONLY. (Step g) NOTE: Do not perform this step if the vehicle has Smart Entry. (g) Remove the driver’s step cover. (Steps h-l) NOTE: Do not perform this step if the vehicle has Smart Entry. (h) Remove the driver’s cowl cover. (Fig. 1-8) (1) Remove the one nut securing the cowl cover. (i) Remove the hood release cable. (Fig. 1-9) (1) Do not bend the hood release cable. (j) Open the screw cover on the lower dash cover. Insert the tip of a Nylon Panel Removal Tool in the upper slot to loosen it. (Fig. 1-9) (1) Remove one screw and one bolt securing the lower dash cover. (k) Remove the lower dash cover. (Fig. 1-10) (1) Disconnect the temperature sensor (connector and aspirator hose) from the lower dash cover if equipped. (l) Carefully remove the driver side airbag assembly. (Fig. 1-11) (1) Remove four bolts securing the driver side airbag assembly. (2) Be careful not to get cut by the sharp metal edges. (3) Do not disconnect the airbag assembly. (4) Use the empty V4 kit box to support the airbag assembly on the floor

The installation of this cold air intake does require mechanical skills. Removal of engine covers, air lines and removing several plastic plugs and screws that may be difficult. Unhook three spring clamps from the top air box cleaner. Once the hooks have been removed, continue to detach the air box top from the lower air box cleaner. See fig. 15 for better illustration. Once the nut and bolt have been removed, continue to remove the entire hose clamp. Unplug the electrical harness clip from the mass air flow sensor as shown above. Disconnect the 4mm vacuum line located to the side of the air box cleaner. Unscrew the nut and bolt the hose clamp that secures the hose over the radiator. Loosen the two flange nuts on the engine cover in order to remove the cover. Disconnec the 6mm vacuum hose that will be reused later in the instructions. Remove the air filter panel once the top has been removed (B). Once the air filter panel is removed, there are three bolts that will be removed in order to detach the lower air box cleaner. Remove the entire lower air box cleaner from the engine compartment. Place the power bands over each end of the silicone elbow. press the short end of the silicone elbow over the throttle body. Once the silicone elbow has been aligned continue to semi-tighten power band over the throttle body end. The first vibra-mount is aligned to the pre-tapped hole located behind the head lamp. The first vibra-mount is now installed as shown above. Screw the second vibra-mount is aligned over the wheel well bracket. The second vibra-mount is now installed as shown above. The stock 6mm hose is removed from the fuel pressure regulator. Press the new 16″- 4mm vacuum hose over the fuel pressure regulator port. Place one .462 and a .412 power band over the silicone step hose. Press the 3 3/4″ side over the velocity stack as shown above. The Power box is now sitting flush over the vibra- mounts and a fender washer is placed over each vibra-mount. The last m6 flange nut is placed over the vibra- mount located behind the Power box. The 65mm bolt is tightened with an allen wrench. The assembled power box is lowered into the engine compartment. Align the mounting points on the bracket arms over the vibra-mounts. One 45mm bolt is removed from the top of the box. The bracket is place under the Power box and the 45mm bolt is aligned and screwed back in place as shown above. Remove the 65mm bolt from the velocity stack base. Align the bracket to the hole and insert the 65mm bolt back in place

Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document. 1. Installation Review and Vehicle Preparation. (a) Review the entire instruction instructions provided before beginning the installation (b) Review the parts list/kit contents to ensure that all parts are present before beginning the installation. If any items are missing contact Technical Support at (800) 688-5912 before proceeding. (c) Remove any low-octane fuel from the vehicle. Ensure that ONLY 91 octane or higher unleaded gasoline is used. (d) Place the vehicle onto vehicle hoist. (e) Protect the vehicle with protection blankets over the fenders and front of the vehicle. (f) Disconnect and remove the battery. (g) When draining the cooling system into a clean container in Step 7, save this coolant as it will be reused. CAUTION: To avoid the danger of being burned, do not remove the radiator cap while the engine and radiator are still hot. Thermal expansion will cause the hot engine coolant and steam to blow out from the radiator. (h) All parts that are removed and not reused should be saved for the customer, i.e., “discard” means to save for the customer.

NOTE: It is necessary to plug the hydraulic lines immediately with plugs 129 589 91 07 and the connections with plugs 129 589 00 91 11. Hydraulic cylinder remove on main bracket from inside of vehicle and lay down in soft top compartment (fig. 8) Hydraulic lines on hydraulic cylinder remove (fig. 8) NOTE: Plug the hydraulic lines immediately with plugs 129 589 00 91 07, the connections on the distributors and hydraulic cylinders with plugs 129 589 00 91 11. Screws screw out (fig. 8, item 8) and remove limit switch (item 9) from hydraulic cylinder NOTE: Check limit switches after completing vehicle and adjust, if required. Reinstall in opposite order (observe installation note) Check for proper function and leakage Special too Installation note When installing the hydraulic cylinder pay attention to the code numbers on hydraulic lines as well as the position of the lines in the B-pillar.
