Carbon Fiber Seat Heater Installation Instructions

Installation Summary – Overview 1. Remove the existing front or rear seat covers. 2. Take note of whether the covers reattach by way of Velcro or Hog rings. 3. The Wire Connector with Purple & Black colored wires is seat the connector which will enable the use of both High & Low temperature functions. 4. Place the heating pads on the seat and at the Listing Reattachment Area mark the pad with a pen. You will be cutting 2 holes per pad. The holes should be equidistant. Example: If your listing length for Velcro or hog rings is 12′ in length then, make a hole at the 4″ & 8″ point. (The Seat Heaters may also be trimmed in length) 5. Now separate the protective adhesive backing at the backside of the heating pads and carefully align your pad and holes with the listing area and press the pads against the seat foam to secure the pad in place. 6. Reinstalling the Covers: Tip: For Backrest Covers, turn the cover inside-out and roll the cover back down the backrest, then reattach the plastic clips. For Seat Bottoms, start by attaching your Velcro or hog ring listings and then proceed to work outwards. Don’t work from front to back or from left to right – start from the middle then work outwards! 7. Switch Location: The diameter of the hole for the switch is 13/16″ or 21mm & the most common location for the switch is on the plastic trim located at the side of the seat. 8. Power Sources: The most common sources are the Accessory Panel, Power Seat, Cigarette Lighter/Accessory Outlet, and Steering Column. However, we recommend drawing power via a relayed key- start trigger sourced directly from the battery. This avoids onboard electronic system interference. ***Warning: If you are installing seat heaters into a vehicle which has a Passenger Side Occupancy Detection System for the Air Bags , You Must Observe The Following: When you remove the seat bottom seat covers, identify whether or not the seat is equipped with topside sensors. They are usually visible and resemble flat circular disks which are interconnected or rectangular in shape. If you are uncertain, you must contact a service department professional for confirmation. Toyota, Kia and Hyundai usually locate the sensors on top of the seat bottom core foam. Honda usually locates the sensors on the face of the seat backrest. In either case, for that particular seat (usually passenger sides only) use only the 2-temp wire connector with one of our seat heater pads. (Disconnect one of the other pads – you will not need it) *The dual temperature wire connector is attached to a black and a purple wire. This will allow dual temperature function with the use of only a single pad

CUSTOMER INFORMATION : The information in this bulletin is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely maintain your car. These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers,” and you should not assume this bulletin applies to your car, or that your car has the condition described. To determine whether this information applies, contact an authorized Honda automobile dealer. ? 1996 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. – All Rights Reserved . ATB 14788-17665 (9601) 1 of 2 JAN 22, 1996 92-012 BODY ALL 1986 and later Applicable To Model File U nder Issu e D ate Bulletin N o. Service Bulletin Front Seat Belt Replacement Warranty Policy (Supersedes 92-012, dated March 13, 1992) Warranty policy for front seat belt replacement is to replace either the belt/retractor mechanism or the buckle when either does not work properly. Warranty covers the replacement of the failed half of a belt, not the entire assembly (see PARTS INFORMATION ). NOTE: For 1970 through 1985 models, seat belts are replaced as a complete assembly under a separate warranty policy. COMPONENT REPLACEMENT Front seat belts are made by several suppliers, and some are sold as individual components (two separate halves); they are not stocked as a complete set. Therefore, whenever you replace a belt, make sure the new belt half is the same type and from the same manufacturer as the original – otherwise, the belt may not buckle properly. To determine the manufacturer and type (or “model”) of the belt, look for the white tag on the original belt in the car. The tag is on the retractor side of the belt (visible at the lower attachment point), or on the belt if you pull the belt all the way out. From the tag, mark down the manufacturer’s name (either Nippon Seiko K.K. or Takata), the belt “model” number and the date of manufacture. If the tag is missing or illegible, look on the buckle component for the name Nippon Seiko K.K. or the stylized “T” mark () for Takata. NOTE: Some belts may have NSK Warner K.K. as the manufacturer’s name. Use Nippon Seiko K.K. belts as the replacement. Take the information to your Parts Department to order the proper replacement belt. NOTE: For more information on seat belts and seat belt related items read: -Twisted Seat Belt (ServiceNews, July ’85) -Seat Belt Testing and Repair (Service Bulletin 86-014, August ’86) -Automatic Seat Belt Troubleshooting (ServiceNews, May ’89) -Lap Belt Retracts Slowly (Service Bulletins 90-003, January ’90 and 90-012, April ’90) -Torn Seal on Seat Belt Track (Service Bulletin 91-004, March ’91) -Slow to Retract Seat Belt, Cleaning the Guide Ring (ServiceNews, April ’91) -Accord Shoulder Belt System Wire Colors (ServiceNews, May ’91) -Seat Belt Slow to Retract (Service Bulletin 91-030, December ’91) Refer to your Service Bulletin Index and the ServiceNews Index for model specific information. 2005 Toyota Prius CAN-View module Installation Manual

I have seat covers on my Prius, which has a flap that extends under the back of the seat to attach with a Velcro strap. This crowds the CAN-View box if it is placed on top of the Nav box, as suggested in the installation instructions, as shown in the following: So I decided to put the CAN-View box in front of the Nav box, attached with Velcro (just the prickly part) to the rug. This shows the seat leaned back to give room to get to the plugs on the Nav box and more room to install the OBD cable under the dash. This shows how easy it is now, with the seat leaned back, to get to the cables in front of the Nav box. The gray wire on the large white plug to be tapped is just below the blue wire. It can be pulled away from the other wires just enough to attach the tap. The small white plug to the left of the large white plug is the one that is to be removed to plug into the CAN-View box. (This is the MFD connection to the Nav box which will become the MFD connection to the CAN-View.) Then the small white plug on the other CAN-View cable is to be plugged into the Nav plug that was unplugged from the Nav box. (The MFD connection is channeled through the CAN-View and then back out to the Nav box.)
