Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Inoperative, Poor Range, Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Message Displayed, Remote Vehicle Start (RVS) (Replace/Reprogram RCDLR, Replace Antenna and Transmitters)

Models: 2006-2007 Buick Lucerne 2006-2007 Cadillac DTS 2006-2007 Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo 1. Replace the RCDLR module and the RCDLR antenna using the following procedure: Impala / Monte Carlo DTS • DTS / Lucerne: 5/1/07 • Impala / Monte Carle: 3/1/07 • The 2006 and 2007 Impala LS without AP8 does not have a coax antenna. • The 2006 and 2007 Lucerne without AP3 or AP8 does not have a coax antenna. 1.1. Remove the driver’s side “A” pillar molding and I/P closeout panel. 1.2. Unplug the speaker. 1.3. To expose the RCDLR antenna, partially remove the driver’s side upper I/P closeout panel (near windshield). 1.4. Remove the clips holding the RCDLR antenna wire at the RCDLR module and along the “A” pillar. 1.5. Cut the old RCDLR antenna wire a minimum of 152 mm (6 in) from the button (connecting to the windshield), leaving that portion of the old RCDLR antenna connected to the windshield. 1.6. Remove the I/P carrier bolt and remove the old RCDLR antenna. 1.7. Remove the RCDLR module. 1.8. Install the new RCDLR module. 1.9. Lay in the new RCDLR antenna and reinstall the carrier bolt. 1.10. Connect the new antenna to the RCDLR antenna module. 1.11. Clip the new RCDLR antenna into place using the existing holes on the “A” pillar. 1.12. Reinstall the I/P close-out panel. 1.13. Reconnect the speaker wire. Important: Be sure that the end of the old RCDLR antenna is tucked behind the “A” pillar molding. The button on the windshield is no longer functional, however leaving the cover on the button will provide a cleaner look to the vehicle. 1.14. Reinstall the “A” pillar molding and I/P side closeout panel. 1.1. Remove the rear seat cushion. 1.2. Remove the rear seat back.

2004-2006 Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx Loss of Power Steering Assist, Power Steering Warning Message Displayed in DIC, IPC/Radio Displays Erratic, DTC C0900, B1325 Set (Replace Ignition Coil/Module Assembly and Add Ground Strap)

Correction Replace the ignition coil/module assembly and add ground strap following the procedure below. 1. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector. 2. Disconnect the left side spark plug wires from the ignition coil. 3. Disconnect the right side spark plug wires from the ignition coil. 4. Remove the four bolts attaching the ignition coil to its mounting bracket and remove the ignition coil. 5. Remove the ignition coil from the mounting bracket. 6. Loosen the two lower ignition coil mounting bracket nuts. 7. Remove the two upper ignition coil mounting bracket bolts and discard. Subject: Loss of Power Steering Assist, Power Steering Warning Message Displayed in DIC, IPC/Radio Displays Erratic, DTC C0900, B1325 Set (Replace Ignition Coil/Module Assembly and Add Ground Strap) Models: 2004-2006 Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx with 3.5L Engine (VINs 8, N — RPOs LX9, LZ4) 8. Install the ground strap (1), P/N 12581176, to the upper left side of the bracket as shown between the coil bracket and intake. Install the new bracket bolt, P/N 11570082, (do not tighten at this time). Prior to installing the ground strap, remove the captured nut and washers. They are not needed (simply pound them out with a hammer on a vise). 9. Install the washer (2), P/N 02436162, to the upper right side of the bracket between the coil bracket and intake. Install the new bracket bolt, P/N 11570082, (do not tighten at this time). Tighten Tighten all the ignition coil bracket bolts and nuts to 25 N·m (15 lb ft). 10. Install the new ignition coil to the mounting bracket. 11. Install the other end of the ground strap to the coil as shown and secure using a new bolt, P/N 11588715. 12. Install the other three ignition coil bolts. Tighten Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in). 13. Connect the right side spark plug wires to the ignition coil. 14. Connect the left side spark plug wires to the ignition coil. 15. Connect the ignition coil electrical connector

It is advisable to disconnect the negative battery cable for 3 minutes before beginning installation, to avoid unintended air bag deployment. Note and record any anti-theft radio codes prior to disconnecting . (figure 1) 2. Remove driver side small object box, lower dash panel, and steering column cover for easy access. B. Install Electronic Modules 1. There are two electronic modules. The larger one is the Cruise Control Module and the smaller one is the Switch Interface Module . 2. Apply the larger supplied piece of double- sided adhesive tape to the Cruise Control Module, and the smaller piece of double-sided tape to the Switch Interface Module. 3. Assemble 20-pin connector from Main Wiring Harness onto mating connector of Cruise Control Module. Apply the 10 and 4 pin connectors from Pedal Interface Harness to mating connector on Switch Interface Module. Warning: Be sure to use the 4 pin connector that is on the same side of the wire harness fuse as the 10 pin connector. Failure to do so could damage vehicle’s ECM. See the picture insert in Figure 2 for further guidance. 4. Locate the linked harness between the Cruise Control and Switch Interface Modules. Connect the four pin mating connectors. 5. Place the Cruise Control Module on the back side of the main J/B. Then place the Switch Interface Module on the inside wall of the driver-side dash left of the J/B .(figure 2,3) 6. B, 05-23-06 Page 3 of 7 7. Locate the 6 pin plug and mate connectors on the Pedal Interface Harness. Remove the accelerator 6-pin connector and apply to mating connector of the Pedal Interface Harness. Apply the other connector to the accelerator .(figure 5) C. Wiring Connections (figures 6-12) 1. Use the supplied self-stripping connectors (T- taps) from hardware pack to apply a T-tap onto the following J/B wires

1. Pull vehicle into service bay and access radio/center console. 2. Disconnect both battery terminals. These cables must be disconnected during installation to insure proper initialization of the DICE module when the DICE when it is connected. 4. The Shift knob needs to be removed by rotating it counter-clockwise. The trim plate around the shifter also needs to be removed. Clips on the side of the plate hold it in place and easily unsnap by lifting up the back of the plate. 5. The plate can be lifted up but will still be hinged in the front, underneath the radio. Move the shifter through the gears to allow the plate to be lifted up. Once the plate can be lifted remove the screw holding the side panels in place. The panel will now be held by clips only and can be unsnapped by pulling it way from the center console. 2 1 2 3 4 5a Make sure the key is removed from the ignition. If vehicle is equipped with keyless ignition, make sure vehicle is OFF. 5b 3 6. Remove any screws holding the radio in place, so the radio may be fully removed. The arrows indicate the location of the 4 screws (2 on each side of the console). After the screws are removed only clips will be holding the radio in place. The entire radio with navigation (if applicable) can be pulled out. 7. Connect the vehicle specific cable’s 8-pin molex and iPod Docking Cable to the DICE module. Shown is the CD Changer harness from the back of the radio. The vehicle specific cable will be interfacing from this point. Some radios may have the connectors in a different order than shown. Match up the DICE vehicle specific cable to the connector on the back of the radio. 6 b. If the vehicle is equipped with Sirius/XM satellite radio, then this connector will already be occupied.
