SERVICE PROCEDURE Replace Starter, Add Cleaner 1. Replace the starter motor. • Use the part number from the Parts Information section of this bulletin. • Refer to section SC, “STARTING SYSTEM, Removal and Installation” in the applicable Nissan Electronic Service Manual (ESM). 2. Add one full can of Nissan In-Tank Fuel System Cleaner to the fuel. NOTE: If the fuel tank is less than ¾ full, instruct the customer to fill the tank as soon as it is convenient after the repair. Driving with the Cleaner installed and low fuel level will not harm the fuel system or engine, but will reduce the effectiveness of the cleaning process. 3. Continue to ECM Part Number Check (next page). 1. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Lower the window completely, and measure the amount of time it takes for the glass to travel from the fully open to fully closed position. a. If the time is less then six (6) seconds then DO NOT perform this TSB. b. If the time required to move the glass from the fully open to fully closed position is greater than six (6) seconds, continue with this TSB. 2. Inspect the glass runs to make sure they are not wavy and causing additional resistance to the glass. 3. Remove the door panel following Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-05, access the glass clamps through the openings in the door sheet metal. (Figure 1) 4. Loosen the glass clamps (using a 1/4″ drive T-30 Torx socket) 5. After loosening the glass clamps, the glass should be pushed up into the header, by hand, then shifted rearward, until it stops against the rear window run seal, and then lowered back into the clamps. (Figure 2)

SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Remove the Fuel Pump/Fuel Level Sensor/Fuel Filter assembly from the vehicle. • Refer to section FL in the appropriate Service Manual (ESM) for removal information. • Follow all applicable Service Manual Warnings and Cautions. 2. Place the assembly in a clean working area. CAUTION: Don’t get any dirt or other foreign material in any of the assembly parts. Disassemble 3. Disconnect the wires from the fuel level sensor. 4. Snap the fuel temperature sensor out of its mounting clip. Figure 1 Fuel Level Sensor Fuel Temperature Sensor and Mounting Clip 5. Carefully separate the flange from the chamber. • Release the 2 side “hooks”. • One hook is shown in Figure 1; the other is on the opposite side and is not visible in the picture. Flange Hook Chamber Chamber Hook: Not Visible 6. Remove the chamber from the rest of the assembly. • Set the chamber aside. You’ll be reusing it. 3/10 7. Carefully disconnect the fuel pump connector. • Use a small flat blade screwdriver to unlock the connector. Fuel Pump Connector Figure 4 Figure 5 Figure 6 8. Remove the spring. • Set the spring aside. You’ll be reusing it. Fuel Pump Bracket Suction Filter 9. Carefully remove the fuel pump bracket shown in Figures 6 and 7. • You’ll need to release the “hooks”. See Figure 7 for example. CAUTION: Be careful; don’t damage the suction filter/pick-up screen.
