Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-08-44-016 (Section 08 — Body & Accessories). Condition Some customers may comment on an inoperative display monitor or monitors in the GM Accessories Headrest DVD System. Cause This condition may be caused by a loose connection at the display monitor cable connectors. These connectors are located at the lower rear part of both front seats. Two cables are routed to the display monitor in each seat. Correction Do This Don’t Do This Install display monitor cable connector clamps. Do Not replace the DVD system display monitor. Important: A number of headrest monitors have been replaced under warranty and in many cases, no trouble was found by the supplier when these units were analyzed. Therefore, technicians should be checking for loose connections and installing cable connector clamps to ensure a positive and robust connection. Technicians are to install a video cable connector clamp on each cable connector located under each front seat. A total of four cable connector clamps, P/N 19159659, are required for each vehicle. The illustration above shows a pair of display monitor cable connectors without the cable clamps installed.

ACTION To diagnose and correct the concern, refer to the following Service Procedure. SERVICE PROCEDURE NOTE DO NOT START ENGINE Evaluation, Inspections, And Checks 1. Retrieve KOEO diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). 2. Check oil level. Remove and clean dipstick. Reinsert into dipstick tube only until dipstick handle reaches top of dipstick tube (Figure 1). Installation instructions: 1.) Raise and support vehicle. 2.) Lubricate all factory rubber hangers and pipe slip-connectors with penetrating oil. 3.) Loosen clamp, attaching inlet of stock muffler to inlet pipe. 4.) Remove muffler/tailpipe assembly from inlet pipe and rubber hangers; remove from vehicle. Removal of muffler/tailpipe can be made easier by first cutting the tailpipe from the muffler with a reciprocating saw. 5.) Remove hanger rod on inlet pipe from rubber frame hanger. 6.) Loosen clamp attaching inlet pipe to outlet of converter and remove pipe from vehicle. 7.) Place supplied 3.5? clamp with hole over small end of supplied adapter and install onto outlet of converter. Engage slot in adapter with index bump on converter outlet and place hole in clamp over bump. Tighten clamp fully. 8.) Place one supplied 4? clamp over inlet pipe slip-connector and install pipe onto adapter. Insert hanger rod on pipe into corresponding rubber hanger on frame. 9.) Rotate inlet pipe as needed to orient end of hanger rod, which is inserted into rubber hanger, in a horizontal position and tighten clamp at slip-connector fully 10.) Place one supplied 4? clamp over muffler inlet and install muffler onto inlet pipe. 11.) Place one supplied 4? clamp over inlet of tailpipe section “A” and install pipe onto muffler and into corresponding factory rubber hangers just above muffler. 12.) Place one supplied 4? clamp over inlet of tailpipe section “B” and install pipe into rear-most rubber frame hanger and onto outlet of tailpipe section “A”. 13.) Place remaining 4? clamp over tip inlet and install tip onto outlet of tailpipe section “B”. 14.) Align all components for desired fit and tighten all clamps fully

Turn tailgate over and put segmented washer over one of the studs 5. Screw the nut onto the stud. Repeat steps 4 and 5 on the other stud and tighten both nuts. 6. Rotate plastic rod retainer using a screw driver and remove rod. 7. 1. Insert rod into Extender slot 2. Twist Extender to retain the rod. 8. 1. Insert Extender onto arm. 2. 1. Check Kit Content. (a) Check kit for content and damage. (Fig. 1-1) 2. Apply tape. (a) Using the factory door sill plate as a guide, apply tape to the door sill surface at each end of the sill plate as shown. (Fig. 2-1) 3. Remove Factory Door Sill Plates. (a) Using an NRT, Lift the edge of the factory sill plate. (Fig. 3-1) (b) Once the edge of the sill plate has been lifted the plate may be removed by hand by pulling firmly upward. (e) Inspect parts prior to installation. Dry fit parts for alignment reference. 5. Install Front Door Sill Enhancements. (a) Check Part Number label on back of door sill enhancement for applicable side of vehicle, Right Hand or Left Hand and Front or Rear. (b) Position part over vehicle door sill area to check for proper fit and orientation prior to installation. NOTE: The vehicle name logo on the door sill enhancement must be oriented as to be read from the outside of the vehicle. (c) Remove the tape liner from the door sill enhancement. 1. Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) (a) Failure to carry out procedures listed below could result in possible deployment of airbag, personal injury, or unnecessary repairs to SRS. (b) Turn the key switch to the LOCK position. (Fig. 1-1) (c) Remove the key from the ignition switch. (d) Disconnect the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-2) (e) Never use a voltmeter to troubleshoot any of the harnesses or connectors to the SRS. Accidentally probing the connectors to the SRS can lead to deployment of the airbag. (Fig. 1-3) (f) SRS wire harness loom/cover is bright yellow in color. Fig. 1-1 Fig. 1-2 Fig. 1-3 10 mm socket

To uncouple electrical connectors, pull only on the connector. (Fig. 2-1) (b) Use nylon ties and adhesive foam strips to secure the vehicle harness and the trailer wire harness. (c) Ensure that all wires are properly insulated from ground. (d) When installing the trailer wire harness, make sure it is not cut or perforated by any sharp metal objects. 3. General Practices and Procedures (a) Before starting installation, refer to the supplemental restraint system procedures in Section 1 above. (b) Take care not to scratch any part of the vehicle. Bind the tips of tools (clip remover, slot screw driver, etc.) with vinyl tape to prevent damage to any part of the car, or use a nylon removal tool (resin based prying tool). (Fig. 3-1) (c) Use a small parts container to store removed bolts and tapping screws so that they can be reassembled correctly. (d) Ensure that seat/floor protectors are in position. (e) After fastening plastic ties, clip away all the excess of the ties using diagonal pliers. (Fig. 3-2)
