Tighten Tighten the bracket mounting bolt to 12 N?m (106 lb in). Connect the vent valve pipe to the EVAP canister. • Install the two vent valve pipe clips into the existing underbody holes. • Connect the EVAP canister vent valve electrical connector, if equipped. • Attach bulk 5/8″ heater hose to the vent valve port and secure using a clamp. Run a length as needed along the frame rail routing to the area above the transmission. • Cut the hose to determined length and install the supplied filter box. Secure using a clamp. • Remove the transmission support and lower the transmission assembly as necessary to allow for access to the new filter box location using a tie strap. DO NOT pinch or restrict the transmission vent hose. The filter box opening should be pointing downward. • Raise the transmission and reinstall the transmission support. • Tie strap the hose as needed along the frame rail in order to keep the hose away from pinch*points and heat sources. • Lower the vehicle. • 2004-2007 Model Year (Use Service Kit P/N 19152349) Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. • Disconnect the EVAP canister vent valve electrical connector. • Disconnect the canister pipe from the vent valve. • Push in the retainer and remove the existing canister vent valve from the fuel tank clip or mounting bracket. Discard the old valve. • Cut back the existing canister pipe approximately 51 mm (2 in) to remove the quick connect end. Install the hose between the vent valve and the canister pipe and secure using clamps. • Attach bulk 5/8″ heater hose to the vent valve port and secure using a clamp. Run a length as needed along the frame rail routing to the area above the transmission. • Cut the hose to determined length and install the supplied filter box. Secure using a clamp. •

2. Install the J 34730-1A . 3. Loosen the fuel fill cap in order to relieve fuel tank vapor pressure. 4. Open the valve on the J 34730-1A in order to bleed the system pressure. The fuel connections are now safe for servicing. 5. Drain any fuel remaining in the gauge into an approved container. 6. Once the system pressure is completely relieved, remove the J 34730-1A . 7. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Important Clean the fuel filter connections and surrounding area before disconnecting the fuel lines in order to avoid possible fuel system contamination. 8. Using a flare nut wrench and a backup wrench, disconnect the fuel line fitting from the fuel filter. 9. Pull the quick-connect fitting back until the internal retainers hit the filter stop. 10. Twist one end of the J 46363 – Fuel Line Disconnect Tool and insert it between the quick-connect fitting and the filter. 11. Twist the opposite end of the J 46363 – Fuel Line Disconnect Tool and insert it between the quick-connect fitting and the filter. 12. Once the J 46363 – Fuel Line Disconnect Tool is inserted, ensure the tool is parallel to the filter and the fitting. 13. While holding the filter, push the quick-disconnect fitting towards the filter in order to disconnect the quick- connect fitting. 14. Remove the quick-connect fitting from the filter. 15. Remove the filter from the bracket. 16. Install the new fuel filter, P/N 15173334 or P/N 25164003 (A/C Delco P/N GF847), to the bracket. 17. While holding the filter, push the fitting towards the filter in order to connect the quick-connect fitting. 18. Using a flare nut wrench and a back up wrench, connect the fuel line fitting to the filter. 19. Position the fuel sensor bracket into place and install the two nuts. Tighten Tighten the two nuts to 17 N·m(13 lb ft). 20. Lower the vehicle. 21. Tighten the fuel cap. 22. Connect the negative battery cable.

The following are instructions for removing the fuel pump resistor from its original mounting location on the lower right front body rail as shown in Figure 1, and replacing it with a new fuel pump resistor and cover in new location shown in Figure 2. The new location is on the front of dash sheet metal (3) at the rear of the engine compartment, inboard or to the left of the alternator (4). The passenger or right side windshield wiper arm (5) and stop (6) are called out for reference purposed only. 1. Turn the steering wheel to the full right position. 2. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. 3. Remove the diagonal brace (1) from over the windshield washer solvent reservoir by removing the two bolts (2) that attach it to the radiator support and the one bolt (3) that attaches it to the strut tower. Refer to Figure 3 4. Remove the two plastic push-in retainers (1) that attach the windshield washer solvent reservoir (2) to the radiator support (3) and the one nut (4) that attaches it to the strut tower (5). Refer to Figure 4. 5. Reposition the reservoir for access to the area rearward of the battery. 6. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. 7. At the right front wheel opening, remove the three screws that attach the inner fender splash shield to the front fascia at the wheel opening and the two screws that attach it to the bottom of the fascia. Refer to Figure 5. 8. Reposition the inner fender splash shield (1) to access the fuel pump resistor (2). Refer to Figure 1 at the beginning of this procedure. 9. Unclip the fuel pump resistor electrical connector from the body and disconnect the connector. 10. Remove the 10mm hex head bolt attaching the fuel pump resistor to the body and discard both the bolt and the resistor.

1. The exhaust weld bung should be welded to a 3/4-inch hole in the exhaust system located as close as practical to the exhaust manifold/header coupling flange. Your local muffler shop should be able to perform this task at a reasonable cost. Be sure to allow clearance for the sensor and its wire harness. 2. Screw the O2 sensor assembly into the weld bung using a 7/8″ wrench. A small amount of anti-seize compound is on the threads of the sensor. Should this be wiped off, we recommend reapplying anti-seize to the threads. 3. Disconnect the battery prior to any electrical work. Always disconnect the ground terminal first to reduce the possibility of shorting a wrench from the +12V side of the battery to ground. 4. Select a mounting location for the Air/Fuel Ratio Monitor display that may be viewed easily, but in reach of the supplied harness. Install the Air/Fuel display using the supplied velcro strips. 5. Locate a place in the firewall to feed the three wires through to the engine compartment. Usually there are existing through holes that may be used. A rubber grommet is provided and should be used if required. NOTE: Use care in routing wires near or around hot exhaust components. Shorting the O2 sensor signal to ground may permanently damage the sensor. 6. Insert the three-pin Weather Pack connector pins into the supplied connector body. Refer to Figure 1. 7. Route the wires to the mating connector attached to the O2 sensor and plug the cable together. NOTE: To prevent catastrophic failure of unit, avoid routing wires near spark plug wires. Be especially careful to avoid running wires parallel to plug wires. Allow even more clearance with high energy ignitions. 8. Locate and connect the Red wire to a source of +12 volt power that is on when the engine is running. 9. Connect the Black wire to the rear of a cylinder head or a manifold bolt. Make sure the bolt hole is free of paint or other nonconducting material. DO NOT USE VEHICLE SHEET METAL AS A SYSTEM GROUND. Use an Ohm meter to check resistance along the path between the ground location and the O2 sensor bung. It should read less than 1 Ohm. 10. Re-connect the battery (positive terminal first), and start the engine. 11. The Air/Fuel Ratio Monitor is now ready for use. Indications begin after the exhaust temperature reaches about 600°F (after approximately 60 seconds)
