Harsh 5-4 Downshift on Deceleration Repair Procedure 1. Test drive and verify that the 5-4 harsh downshift condition occurs as described in the Introduction section in this TSB. 2. Replace the SLT solenoid assembly. The owner notification will commence in early February, approximately one week after your dealership has been notified. This campaign will be launched in phases. • The first phase will include certain 2007 through 2010 model year Camry and Camry Hybrid vehicles equipped with Denso accelerator pedals. These owner letters will be mailed over a period of several weeks. • Additional models, including Camrys equipped with a CTS accelerator pedal will be launched in later phases as the remedy is developed. • Information on additional phases related to Camry (equipped with a CTS accelerator pedal), Avalon, Corolla, Highlander, Matrix, Prius, Tacoma, Tundra and Venza will be provided prior to the launch of these phases. If your dealership is contacted by an owner of a Denso pedal equipped Camry who has not yet received a notification, please verify eligibility by confirming through Dealer Daily/TIS prior to performing repairs . Dealers should perform the repair as outlined in the attached Technical Instructions. 2. Vehicles in Dealer Stock • As required by Federal law, dealers are not to deliver any new vehicles in their inventory, which are involved in a safety recall unless the defect has been remedied. However, because this defect does not exist in vehicles in which the driver’s side floor mat is compatible with the vehicle and properly secured you may continue to sell new vehicles (with Denso pedals) that have not received the full remedy if you assure the driver’s position floor mat is semi-permanently secured or place the front driver’s and passenger’s floor mats in the trunk on any vehicles in stock prior to sale or lease. Vehicle safety recall completion can be verified through TIS. • In order to assure established customers receive priority for the safety recall, we request that this campaign remedy be performed on in-stock Camry and Camry Hybrid vehicles just prior to vehicle delivery where possible. • A VIN list containing vehicles in dealer stock will be provided shortly

OVERHAUL HINT: Overhaul the RH side by the same procedures with LH side. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID NOTICE: Wash off the brake fluid immediately if it comes into contact with a painted surface. 2. DISCONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE 3. Remove the union bolt and a gasket from the disc brake cylinder, then disconnect the flexible hose from the disc brake cylinder. a. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSY FR LH 4. Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake cylinder. a. REMOVE DISC BRAKE PAD KIT FRONT (PAD ONLY) 5. Remove the 2 brake pads with anti-squeal shim. a. 6. Remove the 2 anti-squeal shims from each of 2 brake pads . a. Using a screwdriver, remove the wear indicator from each of 2 brake pads . b. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE 7. Remove the upper side front disc brake pad support plate. a. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE 8. Remove the bottom side front disc brake pad support plate. a. 10. Remove the cylinder slide bush from the cylinder slide pin. a. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT 11. Remove the 2 bush dust boots from the disc brake cylinder mounting. a. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PISTON 14. Place a piece of cloth or similar, between the piston and the disc brake cylinder. a. Use compressed air to remove the piston from the disc brake cylinder. The mounting procedure outlined below covers the 2007 and Newer Toyota Tundra trucks. You will need to refer to the illustrations and familiarize yourself with each of the undercarriage components and their relative position to each other. Then proceed as follows: 1. Begin by removing the bolts holding the skid plate to the bottom of the frame and the rear cross member. Remove the skid plate. Do not discard the skid plate or bolts so that they can be reinstalled if the undercarriage is removed. 2. Remove the two bolts from both tow hooks. Remove both tow hooks. Retain the bolts as they will be reinstalled further into the installation procedure. Do not discard the tow hooks so that they can be reinstalled if the undercarriage is removed. 3. Remove the three bumper mount nuts located on the front end of the driver side frame rail. Retain the nuts as they will be reinstalled further into the installation procedure. 4. Place Driver Side Push Beam Support Plate (62B) against the bottom of the driver side truck tow hook mount and against the outside of the driver side frame rail. The front tab of Push Beam Support Plate (62B) must clear the bumper mount studs on the front end of the truck frame. 5. Slide Driver Side Push Beam Support Plate (62B) backward until the three bumper mount studs on the end of the truck frame fully engage the three holes located on Driver Side Push Beam Support Plate (62B). 6. Reinstall the three bumper mount nuts that were removed in step 3. Fasteners should only be finger tight. 7. Assemble Driver Side Push Beam Support Plate (62B) to the tow hook mount using the two bolts removed in step 2. Fasteners should only be finger tight. 3 8. Using Bolt Puller (102) insert one ½” X 1-½” Hex Head Bolt (A) through the hole located on the outside of the driver side frame rail and through the hole located in Driver Side Push Beam Support Plate (62B). Secure with one ½” Split Lock Washer (D) and one ½” Hex Head Full Nut (C). Fasteners should only be finger tight. 9. Tighten the truck tow hook bolts. The heads of these bolts will not be accessible once Push Beam (62) is installed. 10. Repeat steps 3-9 for Passenger Side Push Beam Support Plate (62A). 11. Slide three Nut Plates (101) through the truck cross member. Align Nut Plates (101) with the front side of the two large outside holes and large center hole. 12. Place Angle Bracket (75) against the bottom of the truck cross member. Secure with three ½” X 1-½” Hex Head Bolts (A) and three ½” Split Lock Washers (D) and Nut Plates (101) previously installed inside the truck cross member. Fasteners should only be finger tight. 13. Install Push Beam (62) between Passenger Side and Driver Side Push Beam Support Plates (62A & 62B) using eight ½” X 1-½” Hex Head Bolts (A) and eight ½” Nylon Lock Nuts (B). Push Beam (62) should be mounted at a height of 14-½” from the ground to the center of the hook hole. Fasteners should only be finger tight. 14. Assemble Angle Bracket (75) to Push Beam (62) using four ½” X 1-½” Hex Head Bolts (A) and four ½” Nylon Lock Nuts (B). Fasteners should only be finger tight. 15. Tighten all fasteners, starting with Angle Bracket (75) and continuing forward. 16. With all undercarriage parts in place, securely fasten all mounting hardware. It is important that all fasteners be properly torqued (see Fig. 3) to assure a safe operating plow. Re-tighten all fasteners after 2 hours of plowing.

UNDERCARRIAGE INSTALLATION NOTE: For easier assembly and installation, vehicle and all snowplow components should be on a smooth, level, hard surface, such as concrete. NOTE: Actual placement to be determined by installer based on recommended pushbeam height. 1. Position each hanger plate ( Item 6 and 7 ) on the truck frame rail and secure rear holes with cap screws ( Item 16 ) and washers ( Item 14 ). NOTE: Each hole contains a welded nut on the inside of the frame. Finger tighten the fasteners until all undercarriage parts are in place. 2. Place support plates ( Item 9 ) on top of frame and secure front holes into top of hanger plates with carriage bolts ( Item 13 ), washers ( Item 11 ) and locknuts ( Item 12 ). 3. Mount the pushbeam ( Item 1 ) square with the bottom of each hanger plate and secure both back and bottom front holes with cap screws ( Item 15 ), washers ( Item 11 ) and locknuts ( Item 12 ). The top, front hole in the hanger plates will require cap screws ( Item 17 ), washers ( Item 11 ) and locknuts ( Item 18 ). Tighten the pushbeam hardware according to the torque chart. 4. Secure the rear support arm ( Item 8 ) to the cross member and then attach to the pushbeam with cap screws ( Item 10 ), washers ( Item 11 ) and locknuts ( Item 12 ). 5. Level the pushbeam with the floor and tighten the hanger plate hardware according to the torque chart. NOTE: After five to ten hours of snowplow usage, retorque all undercarriage assembly fasteners
