2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt 2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit (Canada Only) 2007 Pontiac G5 with Automatic Transmission 4T45-E (RPO MN5) The illustration above shows the switch in a correct position. Cause 3 Metal flashing left in the cylinder may cause a high effort to rotate the key. Cause 4 The slider may be binding in the guides. This may cause the shifter to become difficult to operate. Correction 1 Verify that the shifter button is inoperative by evaluating if the park pawl pin on the shifter assembly moves when activating the button. If the parking pawl does not move when the button is activated, the shifter handle will have to be replaced. Refer to Floor Shifter Control Knob Replacement in SI. Correction 2 Important: A change has been made to the shifter assembly for service. The replacement shifter assembly will read PRNDIL (Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Intermediate and Low). Verify that the micro switch is out of position. Replace the shifter assembly. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement in SI. Correction 3 Important: Refer to instruction sheet that is supplied with the lock cylinder kit. BO 47869 is an essential staking tool and must be used for the repair. Replace the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement in SI. Correction 4 Replace the slide indicator and guides in the shifter following the procedure below: 1. Apply the parking brake. 2. Remove the upper console trim. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement-Console Front in SI. 3. Remove shifter knob. Refer to Floor Shifter Control Knob Replacement in SI. 4. Remove the indicator plate. Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to release the locking tabs. 5. Remove the shifter indicator lens. 6. Pull up on the indicator and remove it from the assembly. 7. Remove the two front rails by unsnapping the front and lifting up, and then back, to remove the rails from the shifter assembly. 8. Install the new guides. Place the hook end into the assembly and push down. It will snap into place. 9. Install the new slide indicator. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-08-44-016 (Section 08 — Body & Accessories). Condition Some customers may comment on an inoperative display monitor or monitors in the GM Accessories Headrest DVD System. Two cables are routed to the display monitor in each seat. Correction Do This Don’t Do This Install display monitor cable connector clamps. Do Not replace the DVD system display monitor. Important: A number of headrest monitors have been replaced under warranty and in many cases, no trouble was found by the supplier when these units were analyzed. Therefore, technicians should be checking for loose connections and installing cable connector clamps to ensure a positive and robust connection. Technicians are to install a video cable connector clamp on each cable connector located under each front seat. A total of four cable connector clamps, P/N 19159659, are required for each vehicle. The illustration above shows a pair of display monitor cable connectors without the cable clamps installed.

Cable harness installation Localize the plug from the cable which goes up from the magneticvalve. Open the 2pole plug (ill.6). There are two different kinds of connection. You can see the difference in the form of the connector plugs. For this reason we deliver two different adapter cables (DN A53 and DN A54). Please send us the unnecessary adapter cable back. Connect the right adapter cable between the connector plugs. Connect the power supply at the vehicle battery (ill.7). Move the cable if possibly splash water protected and avoid attaching in hot engine parts. Put the PDI module on the Sub-D connection. 3. Settings -fine adjustment The system is preset. Normally you will not need to adjust the module. If you want to increase or reduce the power performance, you will only need to place the jumper to the left (increased efficiency) or to the right (reduced power performance). Please contact the manufacturer, before changing the jumper settings. Now fit the cover back on. The vehicle is ready for a test drive. To restore the standard state, you must remove only the PDI module. The adapter cable can remain connected.

Installation of this body lift kit without proper knowledge of the factory recommended procedures might affect the performance of these components and the safety of your vehicle. It is strongly recommended that a certified mechanic who is familiar with the installation of similar components install this body lift kit. 2. Park the vehicle on a clean, dry, flat, level surface. Block the tires so the vehicle cannot roll in either direction. 3. Disconnect both battery cables. Be sure to disconnect the negative cable first, then the positive cable. 4. Before you begin lifting the vehicle, you need to measure and record the bumper to vehicle gaps and also the distance between the cab and the bed. These dimensions will allow you to retain the factory spacing at these locations. WARNING This body lift kit should only be installed on vehicles that are in good working condition. Before the installation begins, the vehicle should be thoroughly inspected for evidence of corrosion or deformation of the sheet metal around the factory body mounts. This body lift kit should not be installed on any vehicle that is suspected to have been in a collision, or misused. Off road use of your vehicle with this body lift installed may increase the stress applied to the factory body mounts. It is not recommended that any vehicle, with a body lift installed, be involved in any extreme off road maneuvers. Failure to follow this warning may result in serious personal injury and/or serious damage to your vehicle. 5. Remove the center shifter console, shift boot, and plate. Remove the doorsill plates and the kick panels. Carefully lift the carpet to expose the cab-mounting bolts. Loosen but do not remove all cab mounting bolts. 6. Carefully mark the splines on the steering shaft in the engine compartment at the steering box and steering column so that the shaft can be reinstalled in the original orientation. Remove the shaft from the vehicle. 7. Release the parking-brake- cable clip from the firewall. 8. Remove the parking brake cable from the frame clip 1 next to the battery. 9. Release the clutch line from the clip on the lower portion of the firewall. Loosen the clutch line from the clip on the firewall located behind the carburetor. Reroute the clutch line underneath the heater hose closest to the passenger side of the vehicle. 10. If the vehicle is equipped with power steering, loosen the clamp just behind the grill that holds the serpentine cooling line and push the line toward the firewall. Loosen both brackets that hold the cooler. Adjust the hoses that are attached to get more hose clearance. 11. Relocate the engine ground strap from the firewall to the lower throttle cable bolt on the firewall. 12. Automatic transmission only. Remove the transmission linkage between the steering column and the transmission. Disconnect the transfer case shifter from the “C” shaped linkage. 13. Remove the oxygen sensor wire from the clip underneath the cab and make sure there is enough slack to allow for the lift 14. Remove the front bumper and lower valance. 15. Remove the two bolts that mount the fan shroud to the radiator. Pull the fan shroud up out of the clips on the bottom of the radiator. Lay the fan shroud over the fan away from the radiator. WARNING Use extreme caution when working with the engine cooling system. Never remove the radiator cap from a hot radiator. Wait until the engine and radiator has cooled and the pressure in the system has dissipated. Use care not to spill any antifreeze/coolant while draining system. Immediately clean up any spilled fluids. Antifreeze can be harmful to the environment. Take care to store the drained antifreeze/coolant in a place away from children and animals. Antifreeze/coolant can be fatal if swallowed.
