1. Disconnect negative battery cable from jumper terminal. Raise and support vehicle. Remove right front wheel. Remove accessory drive belt splash shield from right wheelwell. 2. Remove accessory drive belts. Remove right engine support assembly vertical bolts from bottom side of frame rail (timing belt end of engine). 3. Lower vehicle. Place floor jack under vehicle to support weight of engine and transaxle assembly. Remove 3 bolts attaching engine support assembly to engine block bracket. 4. Move the A/C drier aside with hoses attached. Remove coolant reservoir tank. Remove right engine support assembly. Remove 3 bolts attaching engine support bracket to engine block, and remove bracket. 5. Remove crankshaft vibration damper. Remove power steering pump (hoses attached) and bracket from engine block. Remove timing belt covers. 6. Rotate crankshaft to align camshaft and crankshaft timing marks. 7. If reusing old timing belt, mark timing belt direction of rotation for installation reference. Loosen timing belt automatic tensioner bolts. Remove timing belt. Remove automatic tensioner. Installation 2.5L VIN H (Cirrus, Sebring Convertible & Stratus) 1. Place automatic tensioner into vise, and SLOWLY compress plunger. When plunger is compressed into tensioner body, install locking pin through body and plunger holes to retain plunger until tensioner is installed. See Fig. 13 . 2. Index tensioner in vise the same direction as installed. This will ensure proper pin orientation when tensioner is installed in engine.

Steering Knuckle Removal 1. Remove the front wheel spindle (3105) and the right and left shaft and joint assembly. Refer to Spindle, RH and LH Shaft and Joint Assembly in the Removal and Installation portion of this section. 2. Disconnect the steering linkage, if necessary, from the knuckle. Refer to Section 11-03 in the Body, Chassis Manual. Steering Knuckle Installation 3. Remove the cotter pin from the stud of the front suspension upper ball joint (3049). Loosen the nut on the top stud and the bottom nut inside the steering knuckle. Remove the top nut. 4. Sharply hit the top stud with a plastic or rawhide hammer to free the knuckle from the axle arm. Remove and discard bottom nut. 5. NOTE: Note the orientation of the camber adjuster to make sure of the same camber setting. Remove camber adjuster by hand or, if difficulty is encountered, use Pitman Arm Puller T64P-3590-F. 6. Place steering knuckle in vise and remove snap ring from bottom ball joint socket if so equipped. 7. Remove plug from U-Joint Tool T74P-4635-C and replace with Plug T80T-3010-A4 (part of 4WD Ball Joint Tool Set T80T-3010-A). 8. Assemble U-Joint Tool T74P-4635-C and Receiving Cup T80T-3010-A2 (part of 4WD Ball Joint Tool Set T80T-3010-A). 9. NOTE: Always remove front suspension lower ball joint first. Turn forcing screw clockwise until front suspension lower ball joint is removed from steering knuckle. 10. Repeat procedure and remove front suspension upper ball joint. Installation 1. Clean steering knuckle bore and insert front suspension lower ball joint as straight as possible. 2. NOTE: If ball joint cannot be installed to the proper depth, realign Receiving Cup T80T-3010-A3. To replace the front suspension lower ball joint, assemble U-Joint Tool, Receiving Cup T80T-3010-A3 (part of 4WD Ball Joint Tool Set T80T-3010-A) and Installing Cup from Ball Joint Adapter Set D81T-3010-A or equivalent. 3. Turn forcing screw clockwise until front suspension lower ball joint is firmly seated. 4. Install the snap ring on the front suspension lower ball joint. 5. To install front suspension upper ball joint, assemble the C-Frame, Receiving Cup T80T-3010-A3 and Replacer T80T-3010-A1 (both part of 4WD Ball Joint Tool Set T80T-3010-A). 6. Turn forcing screw clockwise until front suspension upper ball joint is firmly seated. 7. Assemble knuckle to axle arm assembly. Install camber adjuster on the stud of the front suspension upper ball joint with the arrow pointing outboard for positive camber, pointed inboard for negative camber. 8. Install new nut on bottom socket finger-tight. Install and tighten nut on top socket finger-tight. Tighten bottom nut to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft). 9. CAUTION: If the tightening sequence is not followed in this step and Step 10, ball joint life will be reduced. NOTE: Do not loosen top nut to install cotter pin. Tighten top nut to 136 Nm (100 lb-ft), then advance nut until castellation aligns with cotter pin hole. Install cotter pin. 10. Retighten bottom nut to 123-149 Nm (91-110 lb-ft). 11. Install the front wheel spindle and the right and left shaft and joint assembly as described in this section. 12. Connect steering linkage, if necessary, to the knuckle. Refer to Section 11-03 in the Body, Chassis Manual.

Remove head unit (Consult with owner’s and shop manual) 2. Disconnect factory wiring harness from head unit 3. Connect EGO DASH TS Wiring Harness to the head unit Wiring Harness A Locate
amplifier (Most Lexus ? behind glove box; Toyota Land Cruiser ? under drivers or passengers seat). Connect male and female 16-pin connectors between amplifier and the vehicle’s wiring harness. Connect Yellow Mute wire: Lexus ? pin 7 on the 18-pin connector; Land Cruiser ? pin 3 on the 25-pin connector (amplifier). Connect Blue Ignition wire (male bullet connector): Lexus ? pin 16 on the 16-pin connector (female bullet connector); Land Cruiser ? pin 20 on the 25-pin connector (amplifier). Wiring Harness B The normal location of the mute is pin 4 (x) on the 6-pin connector. However, on some rare factory head units, the mute pin might be pin 5. The mute pin on the head unit should show ~ 5 volts when the head unit is turned on. Wiring Harness C Connect the male and female ISO connectors, if they are not already connected. Splice the gray wires (only!) into the loudspeaker wiring, going from the amplifier to the center or door loudspeaker. The 2 female bullet connectors go to the loudspeaker. The 2 male bullet connectors go to the amplifier. The 4 white wires are not used! Connect the yellow mute (“Mute Signal”) cable (male bullet connector) on the ISO Harness coming from the EGO DASH TS brain to “Mute 2″ (white cable – female bullet connector), if not already connected. Connect EGO DASH TS Wiring Harness to the vehicle’s wiring harness (One or more of the connectors might be not used, depending on the vehicle’s configuration) 5. Connect the EGO DASH TS Wiring Harness to the EGO DASH TS control box (16pin Molex) 6. Install the EGO DASH TS switch insert into the desired location (knockout) 7. Connect the EGO DASH TS switch with the EGO DASH TS box (Use the included extension cable if necessary) 8. Install the EGO Microphone into the desired location (e.g. the rear view mirror. DO NOT install the microphone on or near vehicles’ safety systems, like the airbag) 9. Test the EGO DASH TS: a. Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition of the vehicle b. Pair a Bluetooth mobile phone with the EGO DASH TS (Pin code: “0000″) c. Turn on the head unit and select a radio station; Make sure you can hear the radio through the cars’ speakers; Adjust audio volume if necessary

NOTE: Please refer to Edelbrock Performer Series Carburetor Owner’s Manual for detailed tuning procedures. 1. Due to design, the fuel/air mixture and cylinder charging are very efficient with the CH-6B intake manifold. Generally speaking, the stock jetting for the recommended aftermarket carburetors will not need changing. Specific applications may show an increase in performance through further tuning. 2. Aftermarket distributor curve kits may be used with this intake manifold. 3. Use modified or high performance cylinder heads such as our Performer RPM. 4. The compression ratio should be at least 9.5 to 1 to work properly with Performer RPM camshafts. 5. Installation of aftermarket headers, camshafts or both may lean carburetor calibration. Should this occur, recalibrate with a richer jet INSTALLATION: 1. Use only recommended intake gaskets set when installing this intake manifold. 2. Fully clean the cylinder head intake flanges and the engine block end seal surfaces. 3. Use a factory style valley pan along with the recommended gaskets. 4. Apply Edelbrock Gasgacinch sealant P/N 9300 to both cylinder head flanges and to the cylinder head side of the gaskets, allow to air dry, and attach the intake gaskets. 5. Install the intake manifold and hold-down bolts. Torque all of the manifold bolts in two steps by the sequence shown in Figure 1 to 25 ft/lbs.

REPAIR PROCEDURE: 1. Raise the vehicle on an alignment rack (drive-on lift). 2. Verify the road tires are correctly sized and the tire tread is not excessively worn. Replace any worn tire before proceeding. Any new or old replacement tire should be equal to the original tires that came with the vehicle when it was new. Tire wear is not covered by the vehicle warranty. 3. Set the tire pressure for the FRONT TIRES to the following specification, regardless of the load being carried by the vehicle . Tire Size FRONT Tire Pressure LT235/80R17EorLT245/70R17E 448 Kpa (65 psi) LT265/70R17EorLT285/70R17E 414 Kpa (60 psi) 4. Set the tire pressure for the REAR TIRES as recommended for the vehicle configuration and load that is being carried at the time. Tire Size REAR Tire Pressure LT235/80R17EorLT245/70R17E Refer to the Tire Inflation Chart brochure in the Owners Manual or to the placards located either on the face of the driver’sdoor or on the driver’sside”B”pillar. LT265/70R17EorLT285/70R17E Refer to the Tire Inflation Chart brochure in the Owners Manual or to the placards located either on the face of the driver’sdoor or on the driver’sside”B”pillar. 5. Verify that the steering damper is operating correctly. a. Unbolt the end of the damper at the axle end. b. Cycle the damper rod by hand. c. There should be resistance to motion in both directions of the damper rod. d. Replace the damper if no resistance is present. 6. Verify both outer tie rod ends dustcovers are not worn. a. Attempt to rotate the dustcover by hand. b. If the dustcover on an outer tie rod end can be rotated, or is free and loose, then replace the tie rod (regardless of joint wear). 7. Inspect each outer tie rod end for internal wear. a. Maximum allowed wear (joint travel) fora tie rod end is 1.15 mm (0.045 in.). b. Install a dial indicator to the tie rod end (in-line with the vertical stud of the tie rod end). c. With a pry bar placed between the steering linkage and the axle tube, pry upwards while measuring the amount of joint travel (wear). d. Measure the amount of wear in the other outer tie rod end joint. e. If wear (joint travel) in either outer tie rod end is greater than 1.15 mm (0.045 in.), then replace the worn tie rod end. 8. Verify the torque on each outer tie rod end stud nut. The nut should be tightened to 122 Nm (90 ft. lbs.). 9. Make sure any worn outer tie rod ends have been replaced before proceeding further. 10. Verify all other steering linkage connections are tightened to their torque specifications.
