Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-08-44-016 (Section 08 — Body & Accessories). Condition Some customers may comment on an inoperative display monitor or monitors in the GM Accessories Headrest DVD System. Cause This condition may be caused by a loose connection at the display monitor cable connectors. These connectors are located at the lower rear part of both front seats. Two cables are routed to the display monitor in each seat. Correction Do This Don’t Do This Install display monitor cable connector clamps. Do Not replace the DVD system display monitor. Important: A number of headrest monitors have been replaced under warranty and in many cases, no trouble was found by the supplier when these units were analyzed. Therefore, technicians should be checking for loose connections and installing cable connector clamps to ensure a positive and robust connection. Technicians are to install a video cable connector clamp on each cable connector located under each front seat. A total of four cable connector clamps, P/N 19159659, are required for each vehicle. The illustration above shows a pair of display monitor cable connectors without the cable clamps installed.

1. Check Kit Content. (a) Check kit for content and damage. (Fig. 1-1) 2. Apply tape. (a) Using the factory door sill plate as a guide, apply tape to the door sill surface at each end of the sill plate as shown. (Fig. 2-1) 3. Remove Factory Door Sill Plates. (a) Using an NRT, Lift the edge of the factory sill plate. (Fig. 3-1) (b) Once the edge of the sill plate has been lifted the plate may be removed by hand by pulling firmly upward. Be sure not to damage the weather strip in the process. (c) Discard the factory door sill plate. Fig. 2-1 Fig. TOYOTA RAV4 2008 – DOOR SILL ENHANCEMENT Procedure Page 3 of 5 pages Issue: A 12/3/07 4. Installation Preparation. (a) Thoroughly clean all installation surfaces. (i) Use a clean lint free cloth. (ii) Clean surface thoroughly using VDC approved cleaner and wipe dry Do allow cleaner to air dry. (Fig. 4-1) (b) Ensure door sill enhancement to be between 70 F and 110 F at time of installation. (c) Ensure vehicle surfaces to be between 70 F and 110 F at time of installation. (d) Do not touch or allow debris or contaminates to come in contact with the adhesive backing before installation. (e) Inspect parts prior to installation. Dry fit parts for alignment reference. 5. Install Front Door Sill Enhancements. (a) Check Part Number label on back of door sill enhancement for applicable side of vehicle, Right Hand or Left Hand and Front or Rear. (b) Position part over vehicle door sill area to check for proper fit and orientation prior to installation. NOTE: The vehicle name logo on the door sill enhancement must be oriented as to be read from the outside of the vehicle. (c) Remove the tape liner from the door sill enhancement. Do not touch the adhesive

Can be duplicated by lightly touching the brake pedal. • • If the brake pedal is pushed hard, the noise is less likely to occur. Make sure the brake pads and pad hardware (shims, springs, clips, etc) are installed correctly. Refer to ASIST for vehicle specific brake service information. REPAIR PROCEDURE NOTE: ISIS online service manual information is only available for vehicles 1990 and newer. 1. Remove the rear trailing arm: •Refer to the suspension section of the appropriate service manual, or •Online, enter keyword REAR SUSPENSION, then select Suspension Arms Replacement from the list. 2. Mark the trailing arm at the arrow on the bottom of the bushing 3. Place the arm on a hydraulic press, supported by the hub base, with the spindle facing up. 4. With the hub driver, press the old bushing out of the trailing arm. 5. Install the new bushing with the short end toward the outside of the vehicle. Align the arrow with the mark you made on the trailing arm. 6. Press the new bushing into the trailing arm until its edge is 10 to 12 mm above the surface of the arm. 7. Reinstall the trailing arm. 8. If necessary, repeat steps 1 thru 7 to install a new bushing in the other rear trailing arm. 9. Bleed the brake system: •Refer to the brakes section of the appropriate service manual, or •Online, enter keyword BLEED, then select Brake System Bleeding from the list. 10. Check the wheel alignment, and adjust it if needed: •Refer to the suspension section of the appropriate service manual, or •Online, enter keyword WHEEL ALIGNMENT, then select Wheel Alignment – Rear Toe Inspection/Adjustment from the list

1. To confirm the client’s complaint, test-drive the vehicle on a smooth road, preferably with a slight incline. Set the cruise control between 35 and 40 mph, and monitor the engine rpm using the vehicle’s tachometer, or use the HDS to take a snapshot of the engine rpm. 2. If the engine speed fluctuates several hundred rpm while maintaining a constant vehicle speed, disconnect the EGR valve and retest the vehicle. •If the fluctuation is gone, refer to the EGR troubleshooting in the service manual. •If the engine rpm still fluctuates, and the transmission does not have any other symptoms (shifting problems, slipping, transmission DTCs) go to step 3. 3. Drain the transmission fluid, then strain it through a paint strainer. •If you find little or no contamination in the strainer, the ATF is OK, even if it smells burnt, is discolored, and/or the magnetic drain plug has small chips, flakes, or metal fuzz on it. Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE A . •If you find large amounts of contamination (pieces of metal or friction material) in the strainer, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE B . REPAIR PROCEDURE A 1. Remove the torque converter: •Refer to page 14-203 of the 2003-04 MDX Service Manual , or •Online, enter keyword A/T REM , and select A/T Removal from the list. 2. Install the torque converter: •Refer to page 14-215 of the 2003-04 MDX Service Manual , or •Online, enter keyword A/T INSTALL , and select A/T Installation from the list. 3. Update the PGM-FI software using HDS version 1.018.016 or later (see SOFTWARE INFORMATION ). Refer to service bulletin 01-026, Updating the ECM/PCM . 4. Do the idle learn procedure: •Make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio unit, defogger, lights, etc.) are off. •Start the engine, and let it run until it reaches its normal operating temperature (cooling fan cycles twice). •Let the engine idle with the throttle fully closed for 10 minutes. REPAIR PROCEDURE B Follow the IN-WARRANTY EXCHANGE steps in service bulletin 90-009, Automatic Transmission In- Warranty Exchange Program , to order a remanufactured A/T, replace the failed A/T, and return the failed A/T core. 1. Remove the transmission: •Refer to page 14-203 of the 2003-04 MDX Service Manual , or •Online, enter keyword A/T REM , and select A/T Removal from the list. 2. Clean the transmission cooler. Refer to service bulletin 89-015, ATF Cooler Cleaner . 3. Install a remanufactured transmission: •Refer to page 14-215 of the 2003-04 MDX Service Manual , or •Online, enter keyword A/T INSTALL , and select A/T Installation from the list. 4. Update the PGM-FI software using HDS version 1.018.016 or later (see SOFTWARE INFORMATION ). Refer to service bulletin 01-026, Updating the ECM/PCM . 5. Do the idle learn procedure: •Make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio unit, defogger, lights, etc.) are turned off. •Start the engine and let it run until it reaches its normal operating temperature (cooling fan cycles twice). •Let the engine idle with the throttle fully closed for 10 minutes
