In addition to the content of this service kit, four other gaskets not included in this service kit will also be needed to complete the repair, a Control Valve Body Cover (Side Cover) Gasket (54), a Control Valve Body Cover (Side Cover) Inner Gasket (59), a Case Cover Lower Gasket (429), and a Case Cover Upper Gasket (430). These gaskets can be obtained by ordering service kit P/Ns 24206959 and 24206391. Be sure to use ONLY the Second Clutch Assembly and Second Clutch Housing Fluid Seal Rings provided in this service kit. DISCARD the Second Clutch Assembly and Second Clutch Housing Fluid Seal Rings removed from the transmission being serviced. Disassemble ONLY the Oil Pump Assembly from the Case Cover (Complete). DO NOT disassemble the Control Valve Body from the Case Cover. Remove ONLY the Case Cover-to- Case bolts to remove the Case Cover and Valve Body from Transmission Case AS AN ASSEMBLY . To access all Case Cover-to-Case bolts, it is necessary to remove the Pressure Control Solenoid Valve Assembly (322), and 1-2 & 3-4 Shift Solenoid Valve Assemblies (315A, 315B).

1. Prepare for Installation. (a) Verify kit contents (b) Wear safety glasses. (c) Raise vehicle. (d) Caution muffler might be hot NOTE: Apply masking tape to quarter panels above the bumper fascia. To prevent damage when removing the bumper fascia, apply masking tape on the underside of the bottom left- hand corner of the door and left hand upper corner of door. (Fig. 1-1) 2. Prepare Vehicle for Rear Bumper Fascia Removal. (a) Open rear door (Fig. 2-1). (b) Protect exhaust tip with a rag or protective tape during installation of hitch. (Fig. 2-1) NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with proximity sensors, detach the sensor wire connector from inside the fascia, behind the rear wheels on both sides of the vehicle (Fig. 2-2). Severe Driving Conditions ?Driving less than 5 miles (8 km) per trip in freezing temperatures, or driving less than 10 miles (16 km) per trip. ?Driving in extremely hot (over 90 ºF/32 ºC) conditions. ?Extensive idling, or long periods of stop-and-go driving, such as a taxi or a commercial delivery vehicle. ?Driving on muddy, dusty, or de-iced roads. ?Trailer towing, driving with a roof rack, or driving in mountainous conditions. Engine oil capacity-D17A1 engine without oil filter: 3.0 L (3.2 US qt), D17A2 and D17A6 engines without oil filter: 3.3 L (3.5 US qt). ? Replace engine oil filter, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year. ? Engine oil capacity-D17A1 engine with oil filter: 3.2 L (3.4 US qt), D17A2 and D17A6 engines with oil filter: 3.5 L (3.7 US qt). ? Check front and rear brakes, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year. ?Check pads and discs for wear (thickness), damage, and cracks. ?Check calipers for damage, leaks, and tightness of mount bolts. ?Check wheel cylinders for leaks. ?Check brake linings for cracking, glazing, wear, or contamination. ? INSTALLATION NOTE: •These instructions show the left splash guards being installed. The same procedure applies to installing the right splash guards. •Clean and wax the areas to be covered with a high-quality paste wax. Installing the Front Splash Guards 1. Turn the steering wheel all the way counter clockwise to provide access to the left front fenderwell. 2. Remove the two self-tapping screws from the left front inner fender. PARTS LIST Right front splash guard Left front splash guard Right rear splash guard Left rear splash guard 6 Self-tapping screws 2 Spring nuts 2 Square head grommets 3. Using a pushpin, make a small hole through the center of the upper clip. UPPER CLIP PUSHPIN SELF-TAPPING SCREW LEFT FRONT INNER FENDER SPLASH GUARDS P/N 08P00-SHJ-101 2 of 2 All 33039-33598 (0608) LEFT REAR SPLASH GUARD SELF-TAPPING SCREW LEFT REAR FENDERWALL SELF- TAPPING SCREW (reused) REAR BUMPER LEFT REAR SPLASH GUARD There must be no clearance. REAR BUMPER LEFT FRONT INNER FENDER LEFT FRONT SPLASH GUARD LEFT FRONT INNER FENDER SELF- TAPPING SCREW LEFT FRONT SPLASH GUARD CLIP CLIP SELF- TAPPING SCREW SELF-TAPPING SCREW (reused) LOWER HOLE 5. While holding the left splash guard against the fender, tighten the self-tapping screws in the order shown. 6. Turn the steering wheel all the way clock wise and repeat steps 2 through 4 to install the right front splash guard. Installing the Rear Splash Guard 7. Using a floor jack, lift up the left rear side of the vehicle according to the service manual. 8. Remove the self-tapping screw from the rear bumper. Using a pushpin, make a hole through the center of the recess. 9. Install one square head grommet into the hole in the left rear fenderwall. Slide one spring nut over the hole you made in step 8 in the rear bumper. 10. Position the left rear splash guard on the left rear fenderwall and rear bumper, and loosely install one self-tapping screw you removed, and the two self-tapping screws supplied with the kit. LEFT REAR FENDERWALL REAR BUMPER SELF-TAPPING SCREW (Reuse.) SQUARE HEAD GROMMET SPRING NUT RECESS PUSHPIN REAR BUMPER With RECESS SELF- TAPPING SCREW 4. Install the left front splash guard using the two self-tapping screws removed in step 2, and one self-tapping screw supplied with the kit. Do not tighten the self-tapping screws yet. 11. Hold the left rear splash guard against the fenderwall and check that there is no clearance between the splash guard and rear bumper. Tighten the three self-tapping screws in the sequence shown. 12. Repeat steps 7 thru 11 to install the right rear splash guard

Repair Procedure 1. Confirm that the condition is the rear driveshaft clunk/thunk noise. A. Test drive the vehicle and confirm the customer’scomplaint. B. Is the clunk/thunk noise eliminated when coming to a stop and/or when accelerating froma stop? •If Yes-Replace rear driveshaft (propeller shaft assembly). Go to Step 2. •If No-This TSB does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis to isolate cause of condition Repair Procedure (Continued) 2. Install the NEW driveshaft (propeller shaft) assembly. Refer to TSB DL 001-07 for the installation method for 3 joint driveshaftassemb lies on 2007 model year Tundra. Refer to TIS, 2007 or 2008 model year Tundra Repair Manual, Drivetrain -Driveshaft/Propeller Shaft-”Propeller Shaft: Propeller Shaft Assembly (for 4WD): Installation” NOTE Re-usethespacers provided under the center support bearing to ensure the proper alignment of the center support bearing. 3. Test drive and confirm that NO abnormal vibrations or shudders occur while driving, and that the driveshaft clunk/thunk noise is eliminated.

INSTALLATION 1. Squeeze the ring while you pull down on the shift boot. Remove the shift knob by turning it counterclockwise. 2. Remove the shift knob from the ring by squeezing the retaining tabs and pushing it up with long nose pliers. 3. Transfer the ring to the leather shift knob 4. Install the leather shift knob on the shift lever by turning it in the clockwise direction. 5. Pull the boot upward. USE AND CARE Use a sponge or cloth and a solution of mild liquid dishwashing soap and water to clean the shift knob. Rinse the knob completely with water, then dry it with a shop towel. Never use organic solvents such as benzene, thinner, or gasoline to clean the shift knob.

INSTALLATION Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.” NOTE: •Be careful not to damage the rear bumper and body paint finish. •This rear under spoiler kit should be installed only if the ambient air temperature is 60°F (15°C) or above. •To allow the adhesive to “cure,” do not wash the vehicle for 24 hours. 4 Self-tapping screws Template Clip Rubber washer 2 If the vehicle is equipped with a rear inner fender, go to step 7; if not, continue with step 5. 5. Using a drill, drill one 3 mm hole through the lower dimple on the rear bumper on each side. • After drilling, remove any burrs from the edges of the holes with a file. DIMPLED AREA 1. Attach the template to the arched section of the rear bumper. Secure the template with strips of tape. 4. Using a hacksaw blade, cut the rear bumper along the lines you made. • After cutting, remove any burrs from the edges of the cut section. REAR BUMPER Cut out the marked area. TEMPLATE (Remove.) DRILL STOP 2. Mark the rear bumper along the outer edge of the template with a felt-tip pen, and lightly center- punch the four marks on the template. 3. Remove the template. While wearing eye protection, drill a 10 mm hole through each mark you just made. • Using a drill stop on the end of each bit, first drill with a 3 mm drill bit, and finish with a 10 mm drill bit.
