INSTALLATION NOTE: •These instructions show the left splash guards being installed. The same procedure applies to installing the right splash guards. •Clean and wax the areas to be covered with a high-quality paste wax. Installing the Front Splash Guards 1. Turn the steering wheel all the way counter clockwise to provide access to the left front fenderwell. 2. Remove the two self-tapping screws from the left front inner fender. PARTS LIST Right front splash guard Left front splash guard Right rear splash guard Left rear splash guard 6 Self-tapping screws 2 Spring nuts 2 Square head grommets 3. Using a pushpin, make a small hole through the center of the upper clip. UPPER CLIP PUSHPIN SELF-TAPPING SCREW LEFT FRONT INNER FENDER SPLASH GUARDS P/N 08P00-SHJ-101 2 of 2 All 33039-33598 (0608) LEFT REAR SPLASH GUARD SELF-TAPPING SCREW LEFT REAR FENDERWALL SELF- TAPPING SCREW (reused) REAR BUMPER LEFT REAR SPLASH GUARD There must be no clearance. REAR BUMPER LEFT FRONT INNER FENDER LEFT FRONT SPLASH GUARD LEFT FRONT INNER FENDER SELF- TAPPING SCREW LEFT FRONT SPLASH GUARD CLIP CLIP SELF- TAPPING SCREW SELF-TAPPING SCREW (reused) LOWER HOLE 5. While holding the left splash guard against the fender, tighten the self-tapping screws in the order shown. 6. Turn the steering wheel all the way clock wise and repeat steps 2 through 4 to install the right front splash guard. Installing the Rear Splash Guard 7. Using a floor jack, lift up the left rear side of the vehicle according to the service manual. 8. Remove the self-tapping screw from the rear bumper. Using a pushpin, make a hole through the center of the recess. 9. Install one square head grommet into the hole in the left rear fenderwall. Slide one spring nut over the hole you made in step 8 in the rear bumper. 10. Position the left rear splash guard on the left rear fenderwall and rear bumper, and loosely install one self-tapping screw you removed, and the two self-tapping screws supplied with the kit. LEFT REAR FENDERWALL REAR BUMPER SELF-TAPPING SCREW (Reuse.) SQUARE HEAD GROMMET SPRING NUT RECESS PUSHPIN REAR BUMPER With RECESS SELF- TAPPING SCREW 4. Install the left front splash guard using the two self-tapping screws removed in step 2, and one self-tapping screw supplied with the kit. Do not tighten the self-tapping screws yet. 11. Hold the left rear splash guard against the fenderwall and check that there is no clearance between the splash guard and rear bumper. Tighten the three self-tapping screws in the sequence shown. 12. Repeat steps 7 thru 11 to install the right rear splash guard

REMOVAL 1. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear Lower Spoiler ) a. Put protective tape around the rear bumper assembly. b. Using a screwdriver, open the 2 rear bumper plates. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. c. Remove the 6 screws and 2 clips. d. Disengage the 12 claws and disconnect the rear bumper assembly as shown in the illustration HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side. e. Remove the rear bumper assembly. 2. REMOVE REAR FLOOR BOARD (w/ Rear Lower Spoiler ) a. Remove the 4 screws, 2 clips, 3 nuts and rear floor board. 3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/Rear Lower Spoiler ) a. Put protective tape around the rear bumper assembly. b. Using a screwdriver, open the 2 rear bumper plates. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. c. Remove the 6 screws. d. Disengage the 12 claws and disconnect the rear bumper assembly as shown in the illustration. HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side. e. Remove the rear bumper assembly. INSTALLATION Installing the Cargo Cover 1. Open the tailgate. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, remove the panel covers from the right and left rear side trim panels. SUPPLIES REQUIRED Flat-tip screwdriver Clean soft cloth Cargo cover 2 Adhesive tapes 2. Using a clean soft cloth, clean the areas where the panel covers were removed. Remove the adhesive backings from the adhesive tapes, and attach the tapes to the right and left, rear side trim panels where the panel covers were removed. 3. Insert the left end of the cargo cover into the recess in the left rear side trim panel; compress the cargo cover, and insert the right end into the recess in the right rear side trim panel as you release the cover 4. Attach the four front roll cover hooks to the rear seat headrest posts as shown. 5. Slide both ends of the rear roll cover rod into the recesses in the rear side trim panel. Storing the Cargo Cover 6. Insert the right end of the cargo cover into the recess in the right rear side trim panel; compress the cargo cover, and insert the left end into the recess in the left rear side trim panel by compressing the cargo cover, and aligning the end with the recess in the left rear side panel. USE AND CARE •The front roll cover cannot be used when the rear seat is stored. •Do place cargo on the front and rear roll covers. •Do not hang anything from the roll cover hooks. INSTALLATION Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.” NOTE: •Be careful not to damage the rear bumper and body paint finish. •This rear under spoiler kit should be installed only if the ambient air temperature is 60°F (15°C) or above. •To allow the adhesive to “cure,” do not wash the vehicle for 24 hours. 4 Self-tapping screws Template Clip Rubber washer 2 If the vehicle is equipped with a rear inner fender, go to step 7; if not, continue with step 5. 5. Using a drill, drill one 3 mm hole through the lower dimple on the rear bumper on each side. • After drilling, remove any burrs from the edges of the holes with a file. DIMPLED AREA 1. Attach the template to the arched section of the rear bumper. Secure the template with strips of tape. 4. Using a hacksaw blade, cut the rear bumper along the lines you made. • After cutting, remove any burrs from the edges of the cut section. REAR BUMPER Cut out the marked area. TEMPLATE (Remove.) DRILL STOP 2. Mark the rear bumper along the outer edge of the template with a felt-tip pen, and lightly center- punch the four marks on the template. 3. Remove the template. While wearing eye protection, drill a 10 mm hole through each mark you just made. • Using a drill stop on the end of each bit, first drill with a 3 mm drill bit, and finish with a 10 mm drill bit. SERVICE PROCEDURE To service, reduce/minimize moisture intrusion into the rear drum brake assemblies by applying Motorcraft® Silicone Gasket and Sealant to the brake backing plate . WARNING Do not breathe dust or use compressed air to blow dust from storage containers or friction components. Remove dust using government-approved techniques. Friction component dust may be a cancer and lung disease hazard. Exposure to potentially hazardous components may occur if dusts are created during repair of friction components, such as brake pads and clutch discs. Exposure may also cause irritation to skin, eyes and respiratory tract, and may cause allergic reactions and/or may lead to other chronic health effects. If irritation persists, seek medical attention or advice. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury. 1. Place vehicle on hoist and remove the rear wheels. 2. Remove the rear brake drums and replace the rear linings. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-02. 3. Inspect the rear brake assemblies for damaged, missing and/or improperly seated adjuster plug or parking brake cable . 4. Inspect and clean the lining contact area of the brake drum ; machine if necessary. 5. Reinstall the rear brake drums and adjust the lining to drum clearance per WSM, Section 206-02. 6. Thoroughly clean the backside of the rear drum brake backing plate to promote proper adhesion of sealant. Zoom Sized for Print 7. Apply Motorcraft(R) Silicone Gasket and Sealant to the backside of the rear drum brake backing plate at the following inter[ace areas (Figure 1): ^Axle Flange ^ Wheel Cylinder ^ Parking Brake Cable ^Hold Down Pins 8. Reinstall the rear wheels and torque lug nuts per Workshop Manual, Section 204-04.

INSTALLATION NOTE: When installing a back-up sensor and a trailer hitch, install the back-up sensor before installing the trailer hitch. 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio and navigation system (if equipped), then write down the radio presets. 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery 3. Remove the two caps from the rear bumper, and remove the rear bumper (two bolts, six self-tapping screws, and two clips). NOTE: Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the rear bumper. 4. Remove the trunk floor mat (one clip). 6D26050E CLIPS 2 CAPS REAR BUMPER 6 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS 7109070E CLIP TRUNK FLOOR MAT 5. Remove the rear trunk trim panel (four clips and three hooks). Remove the trunk left side trim panel (five clips). 8. Remove the left rear speaker cover (nine retaining tabs). 710908AE LEFT TRUNK SIDE TRIM PANEL 3 CLIPS 2 CLIPS 7115030E LEFT REAR SPEAKER COVER 9 RETAINING TABS 9. Remove the left rear speaker (one bolt and disconnect the vehicle connector). 10. Attach the control unit bracket to the control unit 11. By hand, thread the 6 mm flange nut onto the control unit bracket stud. Insert the control unit bracket into the hole in the vehicle panel as shown. Secure the bracket to the vehicle panel. Trim Removal/Installation – Seat Side and Rear Shelf Area Special Tools Required KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 2-door NOTE: * Put on gloves to protect your hands. * Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. * Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels. 1. Remove the trim as shown. To remove the side trim panel, remove the rear seat-back and rear seat cushion. 2. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: * Before installing the rear shelf , remove the clips from the body, and install them to the rear shelf. * Replace any damaged clips. * When installing the rear shelf , slip the rear seat belts and center belt through the slits in the rear shelf. * Make sure the high mount brake light connector is plugged in properly. * Apply liquid thread lock to the anchor bolts before installation
