Correction 3 Important: Refer to instruction sheet that is supplied with the lock cylinder kit. BO 47869 is an essential staking tool and must be used for the repair. Replace the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement in SI. Correction 4 Replace the slide indicator and guides in the shifter following the procedure below: 1. Apply the parking brake. 2. Remove the upper console trim. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement-Console Front in SI. 3. Remove shifter knob. Refer to Floor Shifter Control Knob Replacement in SI. 4. Remove the indicator plate. Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to release the locking tabs. 5. Remove the shifter indicator lens. 6. Pull up on the indicator and remove it from the assembly. 7. Remove the two front rails by unsnapping the front and lifting up, and then back, to remove the rails from the shifter assembly. 8. Install the new guides. Place the hook end into the assembly and push down. It will snap into place. 9. Install the new slide indicator. With the transmission in neutral, place the slide over the shifter and into the guides. Move the slide indicator down the guides in the front and rear. Important: Replace the shifter indicator lens if damage is present due to the slider binding or if it becomes damaged during disassembly. 10. Install the shift indicator lens. 11. Install the shift indicator plate. 12. Install the shifter knob. Refer to Floor Shifter Control Knob Replacement in SI. 13. Install the upper console trim. Remove the right side instrument panel sound insulator. 3. Remove the instrument panel storage compartment. 4. Disconnect the passenger side SIR. 5. Remove the lower right instrument panel mounting bolt. 6. Remove the left and right front speaker grilles. 7. Remove the center instrument panel sound insulator. 8. Remove the left side instrument panel sound insulator. 9. Disconnect the park brake release cable. 10. Remove the knee bolster. 11. Remove the lower left instrument panel mounting bolt. 12. Remove the BCM. 13. Disconnect the driver side SIR. 14. Remove the instrument panel cluster. 15. Remove the radio. 16. Remove the HVAC control assembly. 17. Remove the steering column retaining retaining nuts. 18. Lower the steering column. 19. Remove the instrument panel carrier. 20. Remove the left and right cowl vent grille panels. 21. Install the evaporator core assembly to the vehicle. 5. Install the bolts which retain the evaporator case to the bulkhead. Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in) . 6. SUBJECT: TIMING CONNECTOR LOCATION CHANGE MODELS: 1994 CHEVROLET AND GMC C/K TRUCKS WITH GASOLINE ENGINES The timing connector, which can be disconnected to return engine timing to base for adjustment purposes, has been moved from the engine compartment to inside the cab. This new location is not currently reflected in the Service or Owner’s Manual. The new location is under the dash directly below the glove compartment. The tan/black wire is routed for a short distance outside of a large wiring harness. This large harness is routed between the heater blower motor and evaporator case. The timing connector is taped to the wire bundle (Figure 1)

Since the 2005 model year, all BCM’s (Body Control Modules) are programmed from the factory to lock all doors when the transmission is shifted into gear or vehicle speed is greater than 8 mph (13 km/h). There is no option to disable the auto door locks from the factory, but if an owner wishes to have the auto door locks disabled the following procedure can be performed: 1.
