Manual A/C REMOVAL PROCEDURE CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions. 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2. Remove the right side instrument panel sound insulator. 3. Remove the instrument panel storage compartment. 4. Disconnect the passenger side SIR. 5. Remove the lower right instrument panel mounting bolt. 6. Remove the left and right front speaker grilles. 7. Remove the center instrument panel sound insulator. 8. Remove the left side instrument panel sound insulator. 9. Disconnect the park brake release cable. 10. Remove the knee bolster. 11. Remove the lower left instrument panel mounting bolt. 12. Remove the BCM. 13. Disconnect the driver side SIR. 14. Remove the instrument panel cluster. 15. Remove the radio. 16. Remove the HVAC control assembly. 17. Remove the steering column retaining retaining nuts. 18. Lower the steering column. 19. Remove the instrument panel carrier. 20. Remove the left and right cowl vent grille panels. 21. Disconnect the underhood lamp electrical connector, if equipped. 22. Remove the hood. 23. Remove the VCM. 24. Remove the coolant recovery tank. 25. Remove the heater hoses. 26. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the grille mounted lamps. 27. Remove the right front headlamp assembly. 28. Remove the front bumper. 29. Remove the right wheelhouse panel. 30. Disconnect the radio antenna cable. 31. Disconnect the electrical connector for the horn. 32. Remove the right fender. 33. Remove the evaporator case heat shield, if equipped. 34. Remove the blower motor resistor. 35. Remove the evaporator case bolts and screws. 36. Remove the accumulator. 37. Remove the condenser to the evaporator line fitting. 38. Remove the bolts which retain the evaporator case to the bulkhead. 39. Pull back lightly on the heater case to remove the evaporator case. 40. Remove the evaporator case retaining screws. 41. Disassemble the evaporator case sections, and remove the evaporator core. NOTE: If replacing the evaporator core, remove the expansion (orofice) tube and install it into the new core. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. Install the evaporator core. 2. Assemble the evaporator case sections. 3. Install the evaporator case retaining screws. Tighten to 2.5 N.m (24 in lb) . 4. Install the evaporator core assembly to the vehicle. 5. Install the bolts which retain the evaporator case to the bulkhead. Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in) . 6. Install the condenser to the evaporator line fitting. 7. Install the accumulator. 1998 Chevy Truck S10/T10 Blazer 2WD 8. Install the evaporator case bolts and screws. Tighten to 2.5 N.m (24 In in) . 9. Install the blower motor resistor. 10. Install the evaporator case heat shield, if equipped. 11. Install the right fender. 12. Install the right front headlamp assembly. 17. Connect the electrical connectors to the grille mounted lamps. 18. Install the heater hoses. 19. Install the coolant recovery tank. 20. Install the VCM. 21. Install the hood. 22. Connect the underhood lamp electrical connector, if equipped. 23. Install the left and right cowl vent grille panels. 24. Install the instrument panel carrier. 25. Reposition the the steering column, and install the steering column retaining nuts. 26. Install the HVAC control assembly. 27. Install the radio. 28. Install the instrument panel cluster. 29. Connect the driver side SIR. 30. Install the BCM. 31. Install the lower left instrument panel mounting bolt. 32. Install the knee bolster. 33. Connect the park brake release cable. 34. Install the left side instrument panel sound insulator. 35. Install the center instrument panel sound insulator. 36. Install the left and right front speaker grilles. 37. Install the lower right instrument panel mounting bolt. 38. Connect the passenger side SIR. 39. Install the instrument panel storage compartment. 40. Install the right side instrument panel sound insulator. 41. Connect the negative battery cable. 42. Inspect the system for leaks.

CAUTION: Vehicle cooling systems are filled with Motorcraft Premium Engine Coolant VC-4-A (in Oregon VC-5, in Canada CXC-10) or an equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A. NOTE: Less than 80% of the coolant capacity can be recovered with the engine in the vehicle. Dirty, rusty or contaminated coolant requires replacement. 1. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly turning the pressure relief cap one half to one turn counterclockwise to the first stop on the filler neck. When the pressure has been released, remove the pressure relief cap. 2. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02 . 3. Remove the front splash shield. 4. Place a suitable container below the radiator draincock. Drain the coolant. 5. Close the radiator draincock when finished. Filling and Bleeding With RADKITPLUS 1. Using the special tool, install the RADKITPLUS and follow the RADKITPLUS manufacturer’s instructions to fill and bleed the cooling system. Filling Without RADKITPLUS CAUTION: Engine coolant provides freeze protection, boil protection, cooling efficiency and corrosion protection to the engine and cooling components. In order to obtain these protections, the engine coolant must be maintained at the correct concentration and fluid level. When adding engine coolant, use a 50/50 mixture of engine coolant and clean, drinkable water. To maintain the integrity of the coolant and the cooling system: * Add Motorcraft Premium Engine Coolant VC-4-A (in Oregon VC-5, in Canada CXC-10) or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A. * Do not add Motorcraft Specialty Engine Coolant VC-2 or an equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M97B44-D. Mixing coolants may degrade the coolant’s corrosion protection. * Do not add alcohol, methanol, brine or any engine coolants mixed with alcohol or methanol antifreeze. These can cause engine damage from overheating or freezing. * Do not mix with recycled coolant unless it meets the requirement of specification ESE-M97B44-A. Not all coolant recycling processes meet this specification. Use of such a coolant may harm the engine and cooling system components. 1. Install the front splash shield. 2. Lower the vehicle. 3. Fill the degas bottle with the correct engine coolant mixture. 4. Install the pressure relief cap. 5. Move the temperature blend selector to the full warm position. 6. WARNING: Do not stand in line with or near the engine cooling fan blade when revving the engine. Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature. 7. Add the correct coolant mixture to the degas bottle until the coolant level is between the COOLANT FILL LEVEL marks. 8. Turn off the engine and allow the cooling system to cool. Recheck the coolant level and fill the cooling system to the FULL mark on the degas bottle. 9. WARNING: Do not stand in line with or near the engine cooling fan blade when revving the engine. Repeat Steps 3 through 8 until the reservoir level is OK. Bleeding Without RADKITPLUS 1. Bleed the cooling system as follows: * Select the maximum heater temperature and blower motor speed settings. Position the control to discharge air from the A/C vents in the instrument panel. * WARNING: Do not stand in line with or near the engine cooling fan blade when revving the engine. Start the engine and allow it to idle. While the engine is idling, feel for hot air from the A/C vents. * CAUTION: If the air discharge remains cool and the engine coolant temperature gauge does not move, the engine coolant level is low in the engine and must be filled. Stop the engine, allow it to cool and fill the cooling system. Start the engine and allow it to idle until the normal operating temperature is reached. Hot air should discharge from the A/C vents. The engine coolant temperature gauge should maintain a stabilized reading in the middle of the NORMAL range and the upper radiator hose should feel hot to the touch. * Shut the engine off and allow it to cool. * Check the engine for coolant leaks. * Check the engine coolant level in the degas bottle and fill it as necessary.

1. Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor electrical connector and inspect sensor and connector terminals for corrosion and/or evidence of engine coolant. ^If terminals are corroded or if there is evidence of engine coolant proceed to step 4. ^If terminals are not corroded and there is no evidence of engine coolant, reconnect the electrical connector and continue to next step. 2. Perform one or both of the following checks to determine whether the engine coolant temperature sensor is providing the correct temperature indication. If engine coolant temperature sensor reading does not pass either of the above tests, continue with next step. ^If engine is at ambient temperature (vehicle has been sitting overnight or not started for several hours), use a Scan tool to compare the inlet air temperature ( IAT ) to the engine coolant temperature ( ECT ). These two readings should be within 2°C (4°F) of each other. ^If engine is at operating temperature, install a thermometer in the coolant recovery reservoir. With the engine running and A/C off, use a Scan tool to compare the engine coolant temperature sensor reading to the thermometer reading. These two readings should be within 8°C (15°F) of each other If engine coolant temperature sensor reading passes both of the tests above, refer to appropriate symptom diagnostic chart in the Engine/Emissions Controls Section of applicable Engine Service Manual. 3. Turn ignition off. 4Remove coolant surge tank cap. 5. Drain at least 1.9 L (2 Qt.) of engine coolant from the cooling system by opening radiator drain valve or removing engine drain plug. Collect engine coolant in a container. 6. Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor electrical connector. 7. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor from cylinder head. 8. Obtain replacement engine coolant temperature sensor (P/N 21025106). 9. Use appropriate tap to clean sensor mounting hole of any thread sealant residue. 10. Install engine coolant temperature sensor in cylinder head. Torque: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: 8 Nm (71 in-lbs) 11. Inspect harness connector terminals for corrosion and/or evidence of engine coolant. If harness connector terminals are corroded or there is evidence of engine coolant, the harness connector must be replaced with new connector (P/N 12117087-includes: connector, terminals, wires, and splice sleeves). 12. Connect engine coolant temperature sensor connector. 13. Transfer engine coolant drained in step 5 into coolant surge tank. If necessary fill coolant surge tank to the FULL COLD range with 50/50 solution of correct type of antifreeze and clean water. 14. Start engine and check for leaks. 15. Run engine until upper radiator hose is hot, then add additional coolant if needed to bring the level to the FULL COLD level (1991-early 1997) or within the Min./Max. cold range (late l997-2001). 16. Install coolant surge tank cap.

Removal Procedure 1. Remove the steering linkage shield. Refer to Steering Linkage Shield Replacement in Steering Linkage. Important: Have a drain pan ready for the engine oil to drain into. 2. Remove the bolt attaching the engine oil cooler lines to the remote (frame mounted) oil filter adapter. 3. Remove and discard the seals. 4. Remove the engine oil cooler line retaining rings from the engine oil cooler line quick connectors at the radiator engine oil cooler inlet and outlet. Follow the next two steps for the proper retaining ring removal procedure. 5. Using a bent-tip screwdriver or equivalent, pull on one of the open ends of the retaining ring in order to rotate the retaining ring. 6. Rotate the retaining ring around the quick connector until the retaining ring is out of position and can be completely removed. Discard the retaining rings. 7. Remove the engine oil cooler lines from the quick connectors at the radiator engine oil cooler inlet and outlet. Pull the lines straight out from the connectors. 8. Remove the remote engine oil filter lines support clamp bolt. Important: Have a drain pan ready for the engine oil to drain into. 9. Remove the bolt attaching the remote engine oil filter lines to the remote (frame mounted) engine oil filter adapter. 10. Hold the remote engine oil filter lines below the remote engine oil filter lines (engine mounted) adapter to drain the engine oil. 11. Remove and discard the seals. 12. Remove the bolt attaching the remote engine oil filter lines to the remote engine oil filter lines (engine mounted) adapter. 13. Remove and discard the seals. 14. Clean all of the components in a suitable solvent, and dry them with compressed air. 15. Inspect the fittings, the connectors, the cooler lines, the cooler, the filter lines, and the remote filter adapter for damage, distortion, or restriction. Replace parts as necessary. 16. Flush the engine oil cooler, the engine oil cooler lines, the remote engine oil filter adapter, and the remote engine oil filter lines with the same type of engine oil normally circulating through the engine. PRE-INSTALLATION PROCEDURE General Motors vehicles came with many different engine and transmission combinations. This section is intended to verify that all the correct components are in place prior to installation. If the vehicle is currently equipped with a small block Chevrolet V8, then the engine isolator for the current application will work with the Edelbrock Adaptor plates. See the next page for further notes on various applications. A-BODY APPLICATIONS: 1964 – 1967: Vehicles that are being converted from six cylinder or a non-Chevrolet engine can use engine frame stands for the 283 to 327 from a salvage yard or reproduction suppliers such as OPGI and Yearone; engine isolators can be of the OEM rubber type from a parts supplier or polyurethane safety mounts from Energy Suspension: part #3.1114 (zinc plated), or #3.1115 (chrome). 1964 – 1967 applications will require mildly slotting the engine frame stand mounting holes, as shown in Figures 1 and 2. FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2 – 1968 – 1972: From 1968 to 1972, Chevrolet used two different frame stands with matching engine isolators. Type one is the 307 (and some early 1968 327′s), while type two includes all engines from the later 1968 327′s through to the 454, encompassing all engine sizes in-between. If you have obtained frame stands from another vehicle, use the following procedure to identify your mount system: measure the ears of the engine isolator where the engine mounting bolt goes, the inside dimension is 2 5/8″for the 307 cid (Figure 3) and 2 3/8″for the larger sized engine (Figure 4). Frame stands for the late 327,350 to 454 are also available from reproduction suppliers such as OPGI and Yearone, engine isolators can be of the OEM rubber type from a parts supplier or polyurethane safety mounts from Energy Suspension: part #3.1114 (zinc plated) #3.1115 (chrome) for the 307, part #3.1117 (zinc plated) or #3.1118 (chrome) for the late 327 to the 454. FIGURE 3 (307) FIGURE 4 (350 et al) F-BODY AND X-BODY APPLICATIONS: 1967 – 1969 F-body and 1968 – 1974 X-body: Vehicles that are being converted from six cylinder or a non-Chevrolet engine will require engine isolators that match the engine frame stand. There are a variety of styles depending on engine size and model year, so get the engine isolators and frame stands which are available from reproduction suppliers such as Classic Industries and Yearone. Engine isolators can be of the OEM rubber type from a parts supplier or polyurethane safety mounts from Energy Suspension. There are two basic types of engine isolators; to identify them measure the distance between the tab for the engine mount through bolt, if it is 2-5/8″use Energy Suspension #3.1114 (zinc plated) #3.1115 (chrome), if the distance is 2-3/8″use #3.1117 (zinc plated) #3.1118 (chrome).

Disconnect the battery. 2. Drain radiator coolant. Drain plug will normally be located on lower right or left side of the radiator facing the engine. 3. Remove radiator and air conditioning condenser if so equipped. In some cases, the front grill may have to be removed. Measure distance from front cover to grill or brackets that may interfere with camshaft against the length of the camshaft. 4. Remove the gas cap to relieve pressure. Disconnect fuel line and plug. Replace gas cap. 5. Disconnect all linkage from carburetor such as throttle, throttle springs, transmission, cruise control and automatic choke. 6. Tag and remove coil wires and sensor wires. 7. Tag and remove vacuum lines. 8. Remove valve covers. 9. Remove distributor cap and wires, rotate engine until rotor points towards number 1 terminal in cap and pointer on front cover is on top dead center (TDC) and remove distributor. (see Fig. 1) Note: Mark the approximate position of the distributor housing in relation to the manifold to assist in getting the distributor properly located during re-installation. 10. Remove carburetor and intake manifold. Remove and discard intake manifold gasket. 11. Remove rocker arms and pushrods. CAUTION: If your engine has non-adjustable rocker arms (1969-1/2 or later), you must install screw-in studs and high performance •VALVE SPRINGS CAUTION: WARNINGS ABOUT YOUR WARRANTY In order for this Performer RPM roller cam to be covered under ANY WARRANTY, you MUST use the correct Valve Springs. Failure to install the correct valve springs may cause lifters not to follow the cam lobes and damage engine parts. This camshaft is designed to function with valve springs that have a closed pressure of 110 lbs, open pressure of 320 lbs and a lift of .575″. Special H.P. retainers may be necessary with your installation for proper spring height. Do not use rotator type valve springs or retainers for this application. Note: Edelbrock Sure Seat Valve Springs #5762 are not recommended.  IMPORTANT NOTES AFFECTING YOUR WARRANTY CAM LOBE DAMAGE – Cam lobe wear is almost non-existent unless mismatched parts are used or installation of the cam and lifters is done improperly. Cam damage can result from the timing gear loosening due to improper torque on bolts. Bolts holding gear to camshaft should be torqued carefully and a locking compound applied to threads of bolts. Before installing your new Performer-RPM roller camshaft, check the gear drive on the distributor and oil pump for any signs of wear. If worn, be sure to replace with a new gear or you may wear out your camshaft prematurely. High-pressure oil pumps are not recommended with Performer RPM roller camshafts. Edelbrock camshafts are designed to use with Edelbrock timing chains.  CAM GEARS AND CAMSHAFT END PLAY- If cam gear becomes loose, the cam will slide back in the block, causing the lifters to hit the lobes next to them and also the cam bearing journals. If the engine is run after this happens, the bottom of the lifters and the sides of the lobes will become damaged. See Installation Instructions section for end play specifications.  LIFTERS Edelbrock offers a retrofit roller lifter kit for engines not originally equipped with roller lifters. Use part #97453. To install your roller lifters, use fresh clean oil on the lifter and the lifter bore just prior to installing. The guide bar (high side of tappet) must face the opposite side of block. See roller lifter instructions for additional information. ( Note: 289-302 engines require removal of the cylinder heads to provide enough clearance to install roller lifters, which are taller than standard hydraulic lifters.)  PUSHRODS AND ROCKER ARMS High performance pushrods, roller rocker arms and rocker studs are recommended for this installation. After the cam is installed and timed correctly (see Figure 2), it will be necessary to check each pushrod for correct lifter preload. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Check lifters as covered in Lifters section. Coat cam lobes with fresh clean oil. Lube distributor drive of cam with assembly lube (supplied). 2. Install new camshaft. Re-install thrust plate with new sprockets and timing chain with timing marks lined up as recommended by factory specifications (See Figure 2). Reinstall the fuel pump eccentric before installing sprocket bolt and washer

Install the IPC. Ensure everything is connected properly. The replacement IPC requires SPS Programming and IPC Setup procedures to be performed. It does not matter which procedure is performed first. 2. Start the engine and then select IPC Setup. You must have the engine running before performing the IPC Setup. 3. Select IPC Setup. With the engine running, enter the appropriate mileage and engine hours. 4. Select “OK”. Review the pop up asking you to verify the mileage and engine hours. Move the pop up out of the way if necessary to view the verification screen. This may require a click and drag of the dialog box. 5. Verify that the mileage and engine hours are correct and select “OK”. DO NOT turn the ignition OFF until the engine has “run” for approximately seven (7) minutes. Allowing the engine to idle for this period of time allows the IPC to accumulate 1/10th of an hour and write the correct engine hour value to the permanent memory. The engine must be running before set up is performed and run for approximately seven minutes after the user selects “OK” confirming their mileage/engine hour inputs. After approximately seven minutes, shut the engine OFF and complete the event. The seven minute clock starts after you select “OK”, confirming the entries. Note: Based on feedback from technicians, we are currently making changes to the “IPC Setup” application which will include several enhancements to the set up screens. These are scheduled to be released and available in TIS2WEB very soon. Important: Only IPC conditions listed in the Condition section of the bulletin are covered under this special coverage program. In a small number of vehicles, the condition may be intermittent and the gauge sweep test may not always verify the condition. IPC Performance IPC performance may be affected by the following conditions: Customer Comments and Observations Customers who describe gauge performance as jumpy, sticky, slow or erratic. Gauge performance may also be described as being inoperative or inaccurate. For example, for a period of time the speedometer may appear to move normally but be inaccurate and not return to zero (0) after the vehicle comes to a stop. This inaccurate condition may be more or less pronounced during the drive cycle and may, for a time, return to normal operation. A Tech 2 sweep test may not reveal the condition. 1. Perform a gauge sweep test to determine/verify that an IPC gauge is sticking, stuck, or inoperative. Using the Tech 2, navigate to the following screens to perform the gauge sweep test: Body -> Instrument Panel Cluster -> Special Functions -> IPC Gauges -> Display(s) Test. • Cold temperatures • Temperature fluctuations • High humidity • Driving over rough surfaces such as dirt roads or potholes

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required Multimeter . Wiring diagram. Test requirements The Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) J220 fuses OK. Battery voltage at least 12.5 volts. All electrical consumers such as, lights and rear window defroster, switched off. Vehicles with automatic transmission, shift selector lever into position “P” or “N” . A/C switched off. Ground (GND) connections between engine/transmission/chassis OK. Ignition switched off. Test procedure Perform a preliminary check to verify the customers complaint. Refer to Preliminary Check Start diagnosis The Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor G28 detects RPM and reference marks. Without an engine speed signal, the engine will not start. If the engine speed signal fails while the engine is running, the engine will stop immediately Function test Connect the scan tool. Switch the ignition on. Using the scan tool, check the engine speed: End diagnosis and switch ignition off. If the specified value was not obtained: Checking internal resistance Disconnect the gray Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor G28 electrical harness connector 7 arrow 7 . Using a multimeter , check the Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor G28 terminals 2 to 3 7 see insert 7 for resistance. Specified value: 0.7 to 1000 kOhm Check Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor G28 terminals 1 to 2 and 1 to 3 for short circuits. Specified value: ? (infinity) If any of the specified values are not obtained: Replace the Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor G28 . Refer to Engine Mechanical, Fuel Injection and Ignition 7 Repair Group 13 . If the specified values are obtained: Checking wiring If the manufacturers test box is being used. Perform the following step. Install the test box Adapter F/VAG1598 (68 Pin) VAG1598/22 . If the manufacturers test box is not being used. Perform the following step. Remove the Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) J220 . Refer to Motronic Engine Control Module J220, Replacing .

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION NOTE: For 2004, manufacturer does not provide a timing belt replacement interval. CAUTION: This application is an interference engine. Do not rotate camshaft or crankshaft when timing belt is removed, or engine damage may occur. NOTE: Engine code AEG is stamped into machined pad on front of cylinder block above crankcase breather, near cylinder head mating surface. See Fig. 1 . For all other 2.0L engines, engine code is stamped on transmission mating flange at the rear of the engine. See Fig. 2 . For all engines, code can also be found on the vehicle data plate and on a sticker on the timing belt cover. Remove right hand insulation tray from engine compartment. Remove engine cover. Rotate serpentine belt tensioner clockwise to relieve belt tension. Remove serpentine belt. See Fig. 3 . Lock in place using Mandrel (T10060) or a drift. Fig. 3: Releasing Serpentine Belt Tensioner Courtesy of VOLKSWAGEN UNITED STATES, INC. 2. Remove serpentine belt tensioner assembly. See Fig. 4 . Turn crankshaft to TDC position. See Fig. 5 . Align TDC marks visible in bellhousing access hole. See Fig. 6 . Remove upper timing belt cover. Ensure camshaft sprocket timing mark aligns with mark on rear cover. See Fig. 5 . 3. Support engine from above or below with floor jack to take engine weight off of mounts. Remove coolant reservoir and set aside. On Golf and Jetta, remove power steering reservoir (hoses attached), and set aside. On New Beetle, pull off EVAP hoses at EVAP canister and throttle valve housing. 4. On all models, remove engine mount from timing belt end of engine. See Fig. 7 . Remove crankshaft pulley from crankshaft sprocket. It is NOT necessary to remove center bolt (center bolt is torque-to-yield type that must be replaced if removed). 5. Remove timing belt covers. Remove engine support from front of engine. See Fig. 4

Disconnect battery. 2. Lift or jack car to a comfortable height. 3. Using WD-40 spray all 6 collector studs and nuts, Y-pipe slip connect, all 4 cat pipe studs & nuts 4. Remove stock Y-pipe by removing the 2 bracket bolts and loosening up the slip connector clamp at rear then remove the 4 nuts holding the Y-pipe to the cat pipes. Slip Y-pipe out, and free from the car. 5. Remove all 4 of the O2 sensors (1) on driver manifold (1) on drive cat pipe (2) on passenger cat pipe. Four total. 6. Remove the 3 nuts on the driver side cat pipe and then remove the 3 nuts on the passenger cat pipe (be careful because the cats are heavy). 7. Remove all 8 spark plug wires. 8. Remove air tube on driver side manifold using a 10 mm socket. 9. Remove air tube on passenger side manifold using a 10 mm socket with universal. 10. Remove EGR tube on passenger side manifold using a 10″ extension with a 10 mm socket and universal. 11. Remove air pump on passenger side of engine and swing out of the way. 12. Remove EGR in front of manifold on top with a 10 mm socket and move to side. 13. Remove dipstick on passenger side 4. Remove all manifold bolts on passenger side and take manifold out. NOTE: Manifolds are Heavy 15. Remove all manifold bolts on driver side and take manifold out. NOTE: Manifolds are Heavy. 16. Unplug electrical hook up on EGR and move out of way. Note: Make sure plug wires are all the way on, and check after installation. Note: Save all stock gaskets, they will be used in installation. INSTALLATION OF BASSANI HEADERS 1. Use Bassani Jet lube on all threads 2. Install the 4 collector studs in headers 2 ea. On each side & snug down. 3. Use the stock exhaust gaskets and install the passenger side header from the bottom and install all of the header bolts then tighten them down after all of them are in. 4. Repeat step 3 for Drivers side. 5. Install the EGR tube on the lower passenger side of the Header. 6. Install the dipstick on Passenger side of engine and put the bolt in. 7. Install plug wires on Passenger side. 8. Install Air tube on Passenger side with supplied 5/16 Hardware. 9. Install EGR to front of motor and plug wire back in. 10. Install EGR tube on top of manifold with 10MM socket. 11. Install the air tube on Drivers side header with supplied 5/16 hardware and Stock Gasket. 12. Install Drivers side spark plug wires, make sure they are all the way on. 13. Install O2 Sensor in Drivers side header and tighten down. 14. Install new Bassani Cat pipe on Drivers side with Jet Lube and supplied 7/16-14 flange nuts and leave loose. 15. Install 2 ea. O2 Sensors in Passenger side Cat pipe
