1. Check the Kit content. (a) Make sure that the kit contains all the parts listed in the Kit Contents. 2. Remove OE Front Springs and Shocks NOTE: Use the same procedures below for the RH side and LH side. (a) Secure vehicle on lift, and remove front wheels (b) Remove the nut and bolt from the shock absorber lower side. (Fig. 2-1) (1) To prevent the shock absorber with coil spring from falling, leave the bolt inserted. (c) Remove the top 4 nuts. (Fig. 2-2) (d) Remove the bolt (lower side) and OE shock absorber with coil spring. (e) Repeat steps 2(b) – 2(d) on opposite side. 3. Disassemble OE Front Springs and Shocks (a) Using one of the SST’s listed, compress the coil spring.(Fig. 3-1) (1) Approved SST: 09727-30021, 09727- 00010, 09727-00021, 09727-00031 (2) Make sure that the suspension support is free from the coil spring. (4) Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST. (5) Do not place yourself over the top of the shock absorber. NOTE: Be careful as the coil spring may spring upward and cause an injury. (b) Remove the front support to front shock absorber nut and discard. (Fig. 3-2) (c) Remove the suspension support, 2 retainers and 2 cushions from the shock absorber rod and retain for reuse. (d) Discard the OE front spring and shock. (e) Repeat steps 3(a) – 3(d) for other OE spring/shock assembly. 4. Assemble TRD Front Springs and Shocks (a) Using the same spring compressor, install the TRD front coil spring. (Fig. 4-1) (1) Do not compress the coil spring more than necessary. (2) Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST. (b) Install the new TRD shock absorber and spring perch into the TRD coil spring. (1) Fit the lower end of the coil spring into the recess of the spring perch on the shock absorber. (Fig. 4-2) (c) From step 3(c), install the 2 cushions, 2 retainers and suspension support to the TRD piston rod. (d) Temporarily install a new top shock absorber nut ( Top Nut PN: 90177-A0007) Fig. 3-2 Fig. 4-1 Fig. 4-2

DO NOT disassemble the Control Valve Body from the Case Cover. Remove ONLY the Case Cover-to- Case bolts to remove the Case Cover and Valve Body from Transmission Case AS AN ASSEMBLY . To access all Case Cover-to-Case bolts, it is necessary to remove the Pressure Control Solenoid Valve Assembly (322), and 1-2 & 3-4 Shift Solenoid Valve Assemblies (315A, 315B).

1. To begin installation, block rear wheels and apply parking brake so that the vehicle is stable and cannot roll forward or back. Lift front of the vehicle on appropriate lift points, such as the frame, and support the frame with jack stands on both passenger and driver sides. Remove front wheels. 2. Position a floor jack under the front axle and raise jack until it makes contact with the front axle. (See Figure 1) 3. On the drives side, place an index mark on the stock coil spring and another index mark directly across from the first mark on the lower coil spring perch. This will allow you to reinstall the stock coil spring in its original position. Repeat step 3 on passenger side. 4. Disconnect top nut on sway bar end links on driver and passenger side, set nut, retainer, and bushing aside. Pivot sway bar up and out of the way. (See Figure 1) 5. Disconnect nut from passenger side drag link (outer tie rod end). Hit steering knuckle with a hammer at the point where the drag link stud comes through. This will break the stud loose from the steering knuckle. Breaking the stud loose may require the use of a ball joint separator. Gently tap the stud down through the knuckle. Be careful not to harm the stud or stud threads. Moving this out of the way allows access to the passenger lower shock bolt. (See Figure 1) 6. On driver’s side, locate the top of shock absorber stud, located in the engine compartment. Remove the top nut, retainer washer, and grommet from the shock. (See Figure 2) NOTE: Save these parts, they will need to be reinstalled later. Repeat step 6 on passenger side. 7. On driver’s side, remove the (3) stock nuts from the upper shock tower and set upper shock tower aside for reinstallation later. (See Figure 3) Repeat step 7 on passenger side. 8. On driver’s side, remove bolt from the lower shock mount through access hole below the coil spring. Save hardware for reinstallation. Remove shock from access in engine compartment. (See Figure 4) Repeat step 8 on passenger side. 9. Carefully lower floor jack enough to allow the removal of the stock coil spring. On driver’s side, remove the coil spring and the rubber isolation pad and set aside for later reinstallation. Remove ring that retains the shock tower bolts and discard . Repeat step 9 on passenger side. NOTE: Removal of the passenger coil spring may require the use of a spring compressor. 10. Lower the floor jack to allow room for the stock coil spring and the new upper coil spacer. 11. On the driver side, place the isolation pad on top of the stock coil spring, place new coil spring spacer on top of isolator pad. Place the entire assembly into the stock spring location. Turn the spring so that it is lined up with index marks made in step 3. Line the spacer studs up with the holes in the shock tower. Raise the floor jack until new coil spring spacer seats into the upper stock location. (See Figure 5) Repeat step 11 on passenger side. 12. On the driver’s side, install the shock down through the engine compartment and secure the bottom of the shock into the stock location using the stock hardware. Tighten to 100 ft-lbs. Repeat step 12 on passenger side. 13. On the driver’s side, reinstall stock upper shock tower into stock location. Secure new coil spring spacer to upper shock mount using 3/8″ hardware provided with the kit. Torque to 35 ft-lbs.

This step verifies that circuit 1222 is neither open nor shorted to power. 11. This step verifies that the 1-2 shift solenoid has neither shorted across its windings nor increased its resistance. DTC P0753 1-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit– Electrical Step Action Value(s) Yes No 1 Was the Powertrain On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check performed? — Go to Step 2 Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check 2 1. Install the Scan Tool . 2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. Important Before clearing the DTCs, use the scan tool in order to record the Freeze Frame and Failure Records for reference. The Clear Info function will erase the data. 3. Record the DTC Freeze Frame and Failure Records, then clear the DTC. — Go to Are DTCs P0758, P1860 or P0740 set? Step 3 Go to Step 6 3 1. Remove the TCC fuse. 2. Inspect the fuse for an open. Disconnect the Automatic Transmission 7-way connector. 3. Install the J 38835 Transmission Electrical Jumper on the engine harness connector. 4. Connect a test lamp from terminal E to terminal A of the jumper using a J 35616-A Connector Test Adapter Kit. Important Additional DTCs will set. 5. With the engine OFF, turn the ignition ON. Is the test lamp ON? — Go to Step 7 Go to Step 8 7 Inspect engine harness circuit 1222 for a short to ground. Refer to General Electrical Diagnosis Procedures . Was a condition found and corrected? — Go to Step 21 Go to Step 20 8 Using the scan tool command the 1-2 solenoid ON and OFF three times. Does the test lamp cycle ON and OFF as commanded? — Go to Step 11 Go to Step 9 9 Inspect engine harness circuit 1222 for an open. Refer to General Electrical Diagnosis Procedures . Was a condition found and corrected? — Go to Step 21 Go to Step 10 10 Inspect engine harness circuit 1222 for a short to power. Refer to General Electrical Diagnosis Procedures . Was a condition found and corrected? — Go to Step 21 Go to Step 19 11 1. Turn the ignition OFF. 2. Disconnect the J 38835 Transmission Electrical Jumper from the engine harness. 3. 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt 2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit (Canada Only) 2007 Pontiac G5 with Automatic Transmission 4T45-E (RPO MN5) The illustration above shows the switch in a correct position. Cause 3 Metal flashing left in the cylinder may cause a high effort to rotate the key. Cause 4 The slider may be binding in the guides. This may cause the shifter to become difficult to operate. Correction 1 Verify that the shifter button is inoperative by evaluating if the park pawl pin on the shifter assembly moves when activating the button. If the parking pawl does not move when the button is activated, the shifter handle will have to be replaced. Refer to Floor Shifter Control Knob Replacement in SI. Correction 2 Important: A change has been made to the shifter assembly for service. The replacement shifter assembly will read PRNDIL (Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Intermediate and Low). Verify that the micro switch is out of position. Replace the shifter assembly. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement in SI. Correction 3 Important: Refer to instruction sheet that is supplied with the lock cylinder kit. BO 47869 is an essential staking tool and must be used for the repair. Replace the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement in SI. Correction 4 Replace the slide indicator and guides in the shifter following the procedure below: 1. Apply the parking brake. 2. Remove the upper console trim. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement-Console Front in SI. 3. Remove shifter knob. Refer to Floor Shifter Control Knob Replacement in SI. 4. Remove the indicator plate. Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to release the locking tabs. 5. Remove the shifter indicator lens. 6. Pull up on the indicator and remove it from the assembly. 7. Remove the two front rails by unsnapping the front and lifting up, and then back, to remove the rails from the shifter assembly. 8. Install the new guides. Place the hook end into the assembly and push down. It will snap into place. 9. Install the new slide indicator. With the transmission in neutral, place the slide over the shifter and into the guides. Move the slide indicator down the guides in the front and rear. Important: Replace the shifter indicator lens if damage is present due to the slider binding or if it becomes damaged during disassembly. 10. Install the shift indicator lens. 11. Install the shift indicator plate. 12. Install the shifter knob. Refer to Floor Shifter Control Knob Replacement in SI. 13. Install the upper console trim. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement-Console Front in SI

Models: 2006-2007 Buick Lucerne 2006-2007 Cadillac DTS 2006-2007 Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo 1. Replace the RCDLR module and the RCDLR antenna using the following procedure: Impala / Monte Carlo DTS • DTS / Lucerne: 5/1/07 • Impala / Monte Carle: 3/1/07 • The 2006 and 2007 Impala LS without AP8 does not have a coax antenna. • The 2006 and 2007 Lucerne without AP3 or AP8 does not have a coax antenna. 1.1. Remove the driver’s side “A” pillar molding and I/P closeout panel. 1.2. Unplug the speaker. 1.3. To expose the RCDLR antenna, partially remove the driver’s side upper I/P closeout panel (near windshield). 1.4. Remove the clips holding the RCDLR antenna wire at the RCDLR module and along the “A” pillar. 1.5. Cut the old RCDLR antenna wire a minimum of 152 mm (6 in) from the button (connecting to the windshield), leaving that portion of the old RCDLR antenna connected to the windshield. 1.6. Remove the I/P carrier bolt and remove the old RCDLR antenna. 1.7. Remove the RCDLR module. 1.8. Install the new RCDLR module. 1.9. Lay in the new RCDLR antenna and reinstall the carrier bolt. 1.10. Connect the new antenna to the RCDLR antenna module. 1.11. Clip the new RCDLR antenna into place using the existing holes on the “A” pillar. 1.12. Reinstall the I/P close-out panel. 1.13. Reconnect the speaker wire. Important: Be sure that the end of the old RCDLR antenna is tucked behind the “A” pillar molding. The button on the windshield is no longer functional, however leaving the cover on the button will provide a cleaner look to the vehicle. 1.14. Removal Procedure 1. Lower the window to the full down position. 2. Remove the door trim panel . Refer to Trim Panel Replacement – Side Front Door ( See: Body and FrameDoors, Hood and TrunkFront Door PanelService and RepairFront Door Panel ReplacementTrim Panel Replacement – Side Front Door ) . 3. Remove the radio speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement – Front Door in Entertainment. 4. Remove the water deflector in order to access the window regulator. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement – Front Door ( See: Body and FrameDoors, Hood and TrunkFront Door PanelService and RepairFront Door Panel ComponentsWater Deflector Replacement – Front Door ) . 5. Disengage the door glass to the regulator sash channel clips (2). Separate the door glass from the sash channel (1). 6. Push the window to the up position and tape in place. 7. Loosen the power window regulator bolts. Remove the rear regulator bolt. 8. Lift the window regulator, disengaging the loosened bolts from the door. 9. Disconnect the regulator electrical connector. 10. Remove the power window regulator from the door. Installation Procedure 1. Loosely install the four forward fasteners into the window regulator. 2. Position the power window regulator in the door. 3. Connect the door window regulator electrical connector. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices. 4. Install the power window regulator bolts. Tighten the regulator bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in). 5. Remove the tape from the window. Push the window down to the regulator sash channel. 6. Slide the glass sash clips (2) into the window regulator sash channel (1). 7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement – Front Door ( See: Body and FrameDoors, Hood and TrunkFront Door PanelService and RepairFront Door Panel ComponentsWater Deflector Replacement – Front Door ) . 8. Install the radio speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement – Front Door in Entertainment. 9. Install the door trim panel . FORD: 2004-2007 F-Super Duty ISSUE SERVICE PROCEDURE Some 2004-2007 F-Super Duty vehicles, equipped with a power sliding rear window (back glass), may 1. Prior to window removal, verify that center exhibit a stuck or binding concern.
