ADJUSTMENTS WINDOWS Remove door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Loosen bolts holding window to regulator. Raise window fully, seating window in frame. Tighten bolts. Install door trim panel. TROUBLE SHOOTING POWER WINDOWS On Dakota, inspect circuit breaker No. 20 (20-amp) in junction block. On Durango inspect circuit breaker No. 21 (25-amp) in junction block. On all models, junction block is located on left end of instrument panel. Inspect fuse No. 9 (40-amp on Dakota, 50-amp on Durango) in Power Distribution Center (PDC). PDC is located in left front corner of engine compartment. Inspect power window system ground circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . SYSTEM TESTS ALL WINDOWS INOPERATIVE Dakota 1. Check circuit breaker for power window system. See TROUBLE SHOOTING . Replace circuit breaker as necessary. If circuit breaker is okay, go to next step. 2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove driver’s front power window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 3 (Black wire) at driver power window switch wiring harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire between driver power window 2000 Dodge Durango 2000 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT’ ‘Power Windows – Dakota & Durango 2000 Dodge Durango 2000 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT’ ‘Power Windows – Dakota & Durango switch connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . 3. Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 5 (Tan wire) at driver’s power window switch wiring harness connector. If battery voltage is present, check driver power window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If battery voltage is not present, repair open Tan wire between driver power window switch connector and ignition switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. Durango 1. Check circuit breaker for power window system. See TROUBLE SHOOTING . Replace circuit breaker as necessary. If circuit breaker is okay, go to next step. 2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove driver’s front power window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. 3. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 5 (Black wire) at driver’s power window switch wiring harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire between driver’s power window switch connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . 4. Reconnect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 4 (Tan wire) at driver’s power window switch wiring harness connector. If battery voltage is present, check driver’s power window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If battery voltage is not present, repair open Tan wire between driver power window switch connector and ignition switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . The fuel gauge does not change indication unless there has been at least 3 gallons of fuel added or deleted between ignition switch cycle. Use recorded REM and instrument cluster DTCs from the Continuous and On- Demand self-test. ? Are any DTCs recorded? Yes If REM DTC B1201 or IC DTC U1131 is retrieved, GO to D6 . No GO to D2. D2 CARRY OUT THE ICM FUEL GAUGE ACTIVE COMMAND IC Active Command Select the IC FUEL GAUGE CONTROL active command. Trigger FUELLEVEL active command. Toggle and monitor the fuel gauge while adjusting the FUELLEVEL active command to read 50% and 100% Did the fuel gauge needle start at empty (E), move to half at 50%, and full (F) at 100%? Yes GO to D3. No INSTALL a new instrument cluster; REFER to Instrument Cluster. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the instrument cluster self-test. D3 CHECK THE FUEL GAUGE READING Fuel Pump Module C412 Connect one lead of Instrument Gauge System Tester to fuel pump module C412 Pin 5, Circuit 1357 (LB/YE), harness side. Connect the other lead to fuel pump module C412 Pin 8, Circuit 1356 (LG/VT), harness side. Set the power switch on Instrument Gauge System Tester to the ON position Set Instrument Gauge System Tester to 15 ohms. Wait one minute. Set Instrument Gauge System Tester to 160 ohms. Wait one minute. Read the fuel gauge. The fuel gauge should read full or above. Set Instrument Gauge System Tester to 15 ohms. Wait one minute. Read the fuel gauge. The fuel gauge should read empty or below Does the fuel gauge operate correctly? Yes GO to D4. No GO to D6. D4 INSPECT THE FUEL TANK Visually inspect the fuel tank for any damage or deformation. ? Is the fuel tank OK? Yes GO to D5. No INSTALL a new fuel tank. REFER to Section 310-01. TEST the system for normal operation. D5 INSPECT THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY Visually inspect the fuel pump assembly for damaged wiring or connectors. Visually inspect the float and float rod for damage or obstruction

PROBLEM The IMA system indicator comes on and IMA DTC 77 (P1447) (battery module deterioration) or DTC 78 (P1449) (battery module deterioration) is set. CORRECTIVE ACTION Replace the battery module. If needed, replace the motor control module (MCM), the battery condition monitor (BCM), or both INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0). 2. Remove the cargo floor mat (see page 20-44 of the 2000-04 Insight Service Manual). (In ISIS, use the keyword FLOOR MAT , and select Interior Trim Removal/Installation – Cargo Area from the list.) 3. Remove the battery module switch cover (two bolts), then remove the locking cover from the switch. 4. Flip the battery module switch to OFF . Reinstall the locking cover. 5. Wait at least 5 minutes to let the capacitors in the system discharge. 6. Remove the right trunk shelf support (five clips and two bolts). 7. Remove the six mid-frame cover bolts. Remove the intelligent power unit (IPU) lid (17 bolts). 8. Measure the voltage at the junction board terminals. There should be 30 V or less . If you read more than 30 V , there is a problem in the circuit; do the DTC troubleshooting first. SWITCH COVER LOCKING COVER BOLTS LOCKING COVER BATTERY MODULE SWITCH IPU LID RIGHT TRUNK SHELF SUPPORT BOLTS (17) CLIPS CLIPS BOLTS ON JUNCTION BOARD TERMINALS REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Remove the battery module from the vehicle (see page 12-113 of the service manual). (In ISIS, use the keyword BAT MOD , and select Battery Module Removal/Installation from the list.) 2. Remove the lifting tool from the battery module. 3. Remove the mounting bolts for the MCM and the BCM (eight total). Unplug the electrical connectors (five for the MCM and three for the BCM), then remove the modules. 4. Install the MCM and the BCM in the new battery module. Use the original MCM and BCM if no replacement was needed; otherwise, use the appropriate replacement parts. Torque the mounting bolts to 9.8 N·m (7.2 lb-ft) . 5. Install the lifting tool on the battery module. 6. With someone to help you, carefully lift the battery module into the vehicle, and set it down into position. Remove the lifting tool. 7. Plug in the connectors, and install the Y condenser harness. Then install the mounting bolts. Torque the bolts to 24 N·m (17 lb-ft) . 8. Install the battery module air duct. Torque the bolt to 9.8 N·m (7.2 lb-ft) . 9. Connect the high voltage cables to the junction board. Torque the bolts to 9.8 N·m (7.2 lb-ft) . 10. Install the front and rear IPU braces and the mid- frame. Torque the bolts to 9.8 N·m (7.2 lb-ft) .
