This step checks to see if the correct VIN is programmed in the BCM. 7. This step explains how to properly program the VIN into the BCM. DTC B1001 Option Configuration Error Step Action Value (s) Yes No 1 Was the SIR Diagnostic System Check performed? — Go to Step 2 Go to SIR Diagnostic System Check 2 1. Install the scan tool. 2. Use the scan tool to verify that the PCM is programmed with the correct VIN by comparing the VIN that is stored in the PCM to the VIN plate of the vehicle. Remove the brake pads. NOTE: Do not depress the brake pedal while the brake pads are removed. Checking and cleaning the rear brake calipers Clean brake pad contact surfaces in the brake caliper and on the caliper mounting. Check the dirt guard for the piston. Replace the dirt guard if it is worn. Recondition the brake caliper if the dirt guard is defective. NOTE: If the dirt guard is defective, dirt may have penetrated the cylinder. Therefore the brake caliper must be reconditioned. Checking the rear brake disc Check the brake disc surface. Check the lateral runout of the brake disc if the disc is uneven. Replace the brake disc if it is worn or grooved. NOTE: Minimum disc thickness = 8.4 mm . If installing new brake pads, the minimum disc thickness must be at least 8.9 mm . Checking the locating pins for the rear brake calipers Check the rubber sleeves on the locating pins. Replace if necessary. If necessary, lubricate the locating pins using Volvo silicon grease (P/N 1161325-4). Insert the locating pins in the rubber sleeves. The locating pins must slide into the sleeves easily. Rotating the brake piston backwards Block the brake caliper against the brake disc. Use special tool 999 5782. * Turn the plate (A) forward over the shaft and insert the tool * Install the lugs (B) in the cut-out in the brake piston * Turn the shaft (C) so that the plate (A) presses against the brake caliper * Turn the axle (D) to the right and press the piston back while turning the shaft (C) to the right so that the plate (A) is in contact with the brake caliper * Turn the brake piston back fully and remove the tool Install the wear indicator (A) on the under side of the inner installed brake pads. Install the brake pads. Position the brake caliper . Install the new locking bolt. Tighten to 33 Nm . Install the brake hose in the support. Install the retaining clip. NOTE: Secure adhesive foil onto the steel plates to prevent the rear brake pads from rattling. Installing the wheels Install wheels. Remove the differential pinion shaft lock bolt and remove the differential pinion shaft. ? If required, remove the ring gear and anti-lock speed sensor ring. 3. NOTE: This tool does not have the 1/2-inch drive hole. Install the special tool in a suitable vise. 2003 F-Super Duty 250-550/Excursion Workshop Manual 5. Install the special tool in the bottom side gear bore. ? Apply a small amount of grease to the centering hole of the special tool. 6. Install the nut in the upper differential side gear. Insert a suitable dowel bar in the hole of the nut. Tighten the forcing screw to force the differential side gear away from the differential pinion gears. ISSUE Some 2003-2006 Expedition and Navigator vehicles equipped with an air suspension may exhibit an air suspension height sensor linkage arm disengaging from the suspension ball stud or height sensor rotating arm. This concern typically occurs with the rear sensor (Figure 1) but may occur with the front sensors as well. If this occurs, the symptom will typically be the vehicle leaning to one side, the vehicle sitting too low/high, a harsh ride, and/or an inoperative air suspension. In addition, this concern may result in diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1725 (air suspension front pneumatic failure) or C1726 (air suspension rear pneumatic failure). ACTION When a linkage arm becomes disengaged, do not re-attach the arm and do not replace the sensor unless broken. Instead, install a revised linkage arm on all three (3) sensor assemblies, even if they have not detached from the ball stud. 1. Replace linkage arms on all three (3) sensor assemblies following Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 204-05. 2. Discard the old linkage arms. NOTE IF THE SENSOR ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR ANY DAMAGE/FAILURE OTHER THAN THE ONE DESCRIBED IN THIS TSB, THE REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY IS SUPPLIED WITH A NEW STYLE LINKAGE ARM, SO THERE IS NO NEED TO ORDER ADDITIONAL LINKAGES FOR THE SERVICE REPAIR. Cause This condition may be caused by a loose connection at the display monitor cable connectors. These connectors are located at the lower rear part of both front seats. Two cables are routed to the display monitor in each seat. Correction Do This Don’t Do This Install display monitor cable connector clamps. Do Not replace the DVD system display monitor. Important: A number of headrest monitors have been replaced under warranty and in many cases, no trouble was found by the supplier when these units were analyzed. Therefore, technicians should be checking for loose connections and installing cable connector clamps to ensure a positive and robust connection. Technicians are to install a video cable connector clamp on each cable connector located under each front seat. A total of four cable connector clamps, P/N 19159659, are required for each vehicle. The illustration above shows a pair of display monitor cable connectors without the cable clamps installed.

2003 CIVIC – Door Panel Removal/Installation Special Tools Required *KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *Trim pad remover, Snap-on A 177A or equivalent, commercially available 2-door NOTE: Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components. 1. If applicable, remove the regulator handle (A) by pulling the clip (B) out with a wire hook (C). 2. Remove the inner handle (A). Take care not to scratch the door panel. 3. Remove the switch panel (A) (power window model) or the pull pocket (B) (manual window model). -1 Pry out on the upper portion of the cover (B) to release the hooks (C, D), then remove the cover. -2 Remove the screws. -3 Pull the inner handle forward and out half-way to release the hook (E). -4 Disconnect the inner handle rod (F) and power door lock switch connector (G) (driver’s side for some models). – 1 Using a trim tool, pry the cap (C), then remove the screw (D) 4. Remove the screws (H) securing the door panel. 5. Remove the mirror mount cover. 6. Release the clips that hold the door panel (A) with a commercially available trim pad remover (B), then remove the door panel by pulling it upward. Remove the door panel with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it. 7. Install the door panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: *Replace any damaged clips. *Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the rod is connected properly. *Make sure the window and power door locks operate properly. *If applicable, install the regulator handle so it points forward and up at a 45 º angle with the glass fully closed
