REMOVAL The air conditioning system can be equipped with either a standard, single blend- air door actuator, or it can be equipped with dual actuators. The dual system has separate blend-air controls. This allows for separate control of the driver’s side air, and the passenger side air. 1. Remove the lower left side steering column cover. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES: 1. Disconnect the negative (black) battery cable from the battery. 2. Raise the vehicle using ONLY the proper procedures outlined in the factory GM Service Manual. Remove the Blue/White cap from the JET CAGS Skip Shift. Disconnect the factory wiring harness from the skip shift solenoid on the left rear (Driver’s Side) of the transmission. REPAIR PROCEDURE: 2002-04 MODELS 1. Replace the rear differential fluid: •Refer to page 15-13 of the 2002-04 CR-V Service Manual , or •Online, enter keywords REAR DIFF, and select Rear Differential Fluid Inspection and Replacement (4WD) from the list. 2. Raise the vehicle on a lift until all four wheels are completely off the ground and can rotate freely. 3. Start the engine, and let it idle until the radiator fan cycles on and off twice. 4. Burnish the rear differential clutches: Automatic transmission models – •Set the parking brake, and shift the transmission to D. Let the engine idle for 5 minutes. •With the shift lever in D, release the parking brake, keep the wheel speed at 10 mph, and let all four wheels rotate freely for 5 minutes. •Apply the brakes to stop the wheels, repeat the bulleted steps one more time, then go to step 5. Manual transmission models – •With the engine idling and the parking brake released, shift the transmission into 1st, release the clutch, and let the wheels rotate for 5 minutes. •Disengage the clutch, and apply the brakes to stop the wheels. Shift the transmission into reverse, release the clutch, and let the wheels rotate for 5 minutes. •Shift the transmission into neutral, then apply the brakes to stop the wheels. •Repeat the bulleted steps one more time, then go to step 5. 5. Shift the transmission to P (A/T) or neutral (M/T), and turn off the engine. 6. Let the rear differential cool for 10 minutes

1999-2002 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2000-2002 CHEVROLET TAHOE, SUBURBAN 2002 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE 1999-2002 GMC SIERRA 2000-2002 GMC YUKON, YUKON XL LOCATED IN THE SEVERE CORROSION AREAS LISTED BELOW Service Procedure The following procedure provides instructions for repairing a corrosion condition where the front wheel speed sensor mounts on the front wheel bearing assembly. 1. Raise the vehicle on a suitable hoist and support as necessary. 2. Remove both front tires and wheels. 3. Compress the front brake caliper pistons. 3.1. Install a large C-clamp over the top of the caliper housing and against the back of the outboard pad. 3.2. Slowly tighten the C-clamp until the pistons are pushed completely into the caliper bores. 3.3. Remove the C-clamp from the caliper. Important: It is not necessary to remove the front brake caliper from the bracket when removing the bracket in the next step. 4. Remove the two bolts that attach the front brake caliper mounting brackets to the knuckle. Notice: Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic’s wire, or equivalent, whenever it is separated from its mount, and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still connected. Failure to support the caliper in this manner will cause the flexible brake hose to bear the weight of the caliper, which may cause damage to the brake hose and in turn may cause a brake fluid leak. 5. Remove the brake caliper and bracket as an assembly and support it with heavy mechanic’s wire or equivalent. DO NOT disconnect the hydraulic brake flexible hose from the caliper. 6. Mark the relationship of the rotor to the bearing hub. 7. If equipped, remove the rotor retaining push nuts from the wheel studs

SHAFT LOCK, TURN SIGNAL CANCELLING CAM, UPPER BEARING SPRING, UPPER BEARING SEAT & INNER RACE Disassembly 1. Remove steering wheel as follows: a. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove horn cap from steering wheel by pulling. b. Disconnect horn button wire, then remove telescope lever screws and shaft lock knob screw. c. Remove telescope adjustment lever, steering wheel nut retainer and nut. d. Remove steering wheel with a puller. 2. Remove spacer, bumper, spacer and snap ring retainer (Nos. 2, 3, 4, and 5 in Fig. 59 ). 3. Remove shaft lock retainer using lock plate compressor to depress shaft lock. 4. Remove shaft lock and carrier assembly, upper bearing spring, upper bearing seat and inner race. 5. Reverse procedure to install. TURN SIGNAL SWITCH Disassembly 1. Remove SHAFT LOCK, TURN SIGNAL CANCELLING CAM, UPPER BEARING SPRING, UPPER BEARING SEAT & INNER RACE as previously outlined. 2. Place turn signal lever to the right turn position, then remove screw and switch actuator pivot assembly (Nos. 11 and 44 in Fig. 59 ). 3. Remove the screws and the wiring protector (Nos. 10 and 45). 4. Remove turn signal switch, then gently pull wire harness through column housing shroud, column housing and lock housing cover. 5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following: a. Torque turn signal switch screws (No. 10 in Fig. 59 ) to 27 inch lbs. and torque screw (No. 11) to 18 inch lbs.
