Remove the oil pan prior to installing the oil pan adapter. Refer to a factory service manual for your vehicle for reference. 2. The Oil Drain Adapter requires the oil pan to be drilled. The hole should be located above the oil level in the pan in an area that does not interfere with any other parts and that will allow oil to flow freely from the drain hose. Mark the area to be drilled. We find that typically, locating the center drain hole 1.5″from the Oil Pan Rail, provides clearance between the adapter fitting and the pan rail, and also keeps the drain hole above the oil level in the pan (See Fig. 1) . Using a scratch awl, mark the center of each bolt hole 9/16″away from the center of the center drain hole so the distance from center to center is 1.125″ (See Fig. 1) . 3. Using a center punch, indent each drilling location to prevent the drill bit from walking. Pre-drill each hole with a 1/8″bit. Secure the oil pan on a work bench or on a drill press, and drill the outer bolt holes to ¼”. Drill the center drain hole to ½”. Deburr the holes and thoroughly clean the oil pan to remove any metal shavings. 4. Install the Oil Drain Adapter onto the oil pan using the two of the ¼-20 bolts, ( Note: Select the appropriate length bolt for your application. If you have a cast aluminum oil pan, you will typically use the 5/8″long bolts; if you have a stamped steel oil pan, you will typically use the 1/2″long bolts. We recommend using blue Loctite on the threads.) and the two ¼” Stato-Seal washers on the inside of the oil pan, using the gasket on the outside of the pan (See Fig. 2a & 2b). Torque the bolts to 6-8 ft/lbs. 5. Re-install the oil pan. Refer to a factory service manual for your vehicle for reference.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: For easier assembly and installation, vehicle and all snowplow components should be on a smooth, level, hard surface, such as concrete. 1. On the driver side of the truck, remove the outermost fastener securing the plastic bumper cover to the splash pan. Retain the fastener for reinstallation if the plow is removed. Then, fold the outermost tab on the plastic bumper cover up to allow for easier pushplate installation. 2. Trim the splash pan as shown to allow for easier pushplate installation. 3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 on the passenger side. Remove and retain fastener. Fold outermost tab up. Trim as shown below. Tow Hook (Passenger side shown.) (Driver side shown.) Trim splash pan. Do not cut into spot welds. On the driver side of the truck, remove the tow hook fasteners and tow hook. Retain the tow hook for reinstallation if the plow is removed. Retain the fasteners for reinstallation in the following step. 5. Attach the driver-side pushplate to the truck frame using the original tow hook fasteners. Tighten the fasteners so that the pushplate is firmly against the bottom of the frame, but do not fully tighten at this time. 6. Using the rear holes in the driver-side pushplate as guides, drill two 13/32″ holes into the truck frame. 7. Insert two 3/8″ x 1-1/4″ cap screws with handles and 3/8″ flat washers into the inside of the truck frame and out through the rear drilled holes. Attach a 3/8″ locknut to each cap screw and hand tighten. CAUTION Use caution not to pinch, cut or drill through any wires or hoses running along the frame rail. 8. Repeat Steps 4-7 on the passenger side of the truck. 9. Install the cross bar using four 1/2″ x 1-1/2″ cap screws and 1/2″ locknuts. Hand tighten fasteners. 10. Check for a connecting arm distance of 29-1/8″ ± 1/8″. If the connecting arm distance is not within 29-1/8″ ± 1/8″, then loosen the tow hook fasteners on one or both pushplates and shift the pushplate(s) in the appropriate direction to obtain the desired dimension. 11. Tighten all fasteners according to the torque chart after achieving the appropriate dimensions. NOTE: Install the 29596 Headlamp Extension Bracket Kit to the headgear according to the instructions included with the bracket kit. NOTE: After five to ten hours of snowplow usage, retorque all pushplate assembly fasteners. NOTE: Customer, changing the oil on this vehicle requires the removal of the lower splash pan. Removal of the mount cross bar (4 fasteners) is required to removed this splash pan. Re-install both splash pan and cross bar and tighten all fasteners according to the torque chart.
