High Tension Wire Resistance 1. Set ohmmeter to x 1000 range and attach leads to each end of high tension wire. On Isuzu I’Mark and P’UP, resistance should not exceed 73,500 ohms per foot. 2. On all other models, resistance should not exceed 25,000 ohms per wire. If it does, replace wires. Fig. 5: Checking Pick-Up Coil Resistance Connect ohmmeter leads to distributor connector terminals. 1. Connect a tachometer test probe to terminal IG of the check connector, Fig. 211 2. NOTE: Never let the tachometer lead touch ground as this could cause damage to the igniter and/or coil. Be sure to check that your tachometer is compatible with this ignition system. Consult the operating manual for your instrument. Service Check Connector 3. Material required: – Remote Car Starter – Xpresskit : XK05-PKT2 or Bypasskit :PKT2 – One 5-wire relay for auto lamp circuit Key required for programming: 1 Average installation time: 2.5 hours Difficulty level: Medium 2.0 Preparation: -Remove the driver’s side under dash, as well as the knee airbag bolts. Move the Airbag aside, but DO NOT DISCONNECT the Airbag connector in order to avoid setting any vehicle codes. -Remove the driver’s side floor heating duct, in order to access the vehicle IMI & IMO wires easily. 3.0 Installation: The remote car starter will be installed in a conventional manner even if the car is equipped with the Smart Key “Push-to-Start” system. 3.01 Main Ignition Harness Connection: Most of the connections will be done behind the Fuse box. This fuse box is located under the driver side underdash. Also, the vehicle’s TACH wire can be found inside vehicle, as per diagram below and it is suggested to use this wire for the remote start tach source. The remote start hood pin switch wire is the only wire which must be run into the engine compartment for safety. Accessory (+): White Ignition 1 (+): Pink Ignition 2 (+): Light Green Starter (+): Grey Tach: Black 3.02 Wiring location for the Bypasskit XK-05 PKT2: The connection for the XK05-PKT2 will be done on the driver side under dash. The wires required are from a 5 wires harness coming from behind the heater module, high above the gas pedal near the firewall. The five wires in this harness are as follows: Blue: transponder IMI (Immobilizer in) wire, which gets cut in two and wired in series. The bottom-half wire connects to the kits Violet/White wire and the top-half wire connects the kits Violet wire. Green: transponder IMO (Immobilizer out) wire, which gets wired in parallel with the kits Orange wire. White/Black, White & Orange… these wire are not used for installation The GREEN LED output wire from the XK05-PKT2 is not required for this installation. The vehicle LED does come on during remote start. 3.03 Wiring location for door locks and factory alarm control: The wires to control the factory alarm and the door locks are located behind the driver’s kick panel. These wires must receive negative pulses. It is mandatory to disarm the OEM alarm system before remote start sequence Grey Unlock Wire : A double pulse unlock (-) output is required to disarm and unlock all doors. The first unlock (-) pulse disarms OEM alarm and unlocks driver’s door, the second pulse will unlock all other doors. In order to disarm the OEM alarm when remote starting, this GREY wire requires a pulse before start, which unlocks the driver’s door. So, if the remote systems unlock output does offer a pulse before start, then connect both the unlock and disarm (-) output wires to the vehicle’s GREY unlock wire. Brown Lock Wire : In order to lock and arm the OEM alarm system a (-) pulse is required for the vehicle’s BROWN lock wire. If the vehicle’s ignition on the alarm will not arm, if locking with remote.

1. Before starting work, familiarize yourself with the installation procedure by reading all of the instructions. 2. The exploded view (Figure 2) provides only general guidance. Refer to each step and section diagram in this manual for proper instruction. 3. Throughout this manual, the left side of the vehicle refers to the driver’s side, and the right side to the passenger’s side. 4. Disconnect the negative (ground) cable from the battery (or batteries, if there are two) before beginning work. 5. Route and tie wires and hoses a minimum of 6″ away from exhaust heat, moving parts and sharp edges. clearance of 8″ or more is recommended where possible. 6. When raising the vehicle, support it on properly weight-rated safety stands, ramps or a commercial hoist. Follow the manufacturer’s safety precautions. Take care to balance the vehicle to prevent it from slipping or falling. When using ramps, be sure the front wheels are centered squarely on the topsides; put the transmission in park; set the hand brake; and place blocks behind the rear wheels. Caution! Do not use floor jacks to support the vehicle while working under it. Do not raise the vehicle onto concrete blocks, masonry or any other item not intended specifically for this use. 7. During installation, keep the work area clean. Do not allow anything to be dropped into intake, exhaust, or lubrication system components while performing the installation, as foreign objects will cause immediate engine damage upon start-up. Tools Required: • 1? 2 ” and 3? 8 ” drive ratchets with standard and metric sockets and 1 ? 2 ” and 3? 8 ” drive extension • Standard and metric combination or open-end wrenches • Standard screwdriver • Clean shop towels or rags • Pry-bar Highly recommended tools and supplies: • Foot-pound torque wrench • Penetrating oil or light lubricant spray General Installation Practices 97083 v.2.0 3 Monster Exhaust SySTEM INSTallaTIoN 1. Disconnect the negative (ground) cable from the battery (if there is more than one battery, disconnect both negative cables). Secure the cable so it cannot accidentally come in contact with the post. 2. Raise the vehicle and support it securely with properly weight-rated safety stands, ramps or a commercial hoist. Take care to balance the vehicle to prevent it from slipping or falling. When using ramps, be sure the wheels are centered squarely on the topsides. Place the transmission in park (automatic), set the parking brake and securely block the wheels that are on the ground. CaUTIoN: Do NoT WoRK UNDER aNy VEHIClE SUPPoRTED oNly By a JaCK. SEVERE INJURy May RESUlT. 3. From under the vehicle remove the factory exhaust starting at the 2-bolt flange in front of the muffler. Remove the two (2) bolts, two (2) washers, and two (2) springs from the flange and retain for re-use. NOTE: Remove the factory gasket from the 2-bolt flange. The exhaust system will be hanging by the exhaust hanger pins. 4. Liberally apply an aerosol lubricant on all the hanger pins. Remove the exhaust system from the vehicle by removing each hanger pin from the rubber grommet. NOTE: Remove hanger pins from the front of the vehicle to the rear. 5. Drop the exhaust system to the floor and move out of the way. You will not be reusing any components from the exhaust system. 6. Install the Banks conical gasket onto the vehicle’s 2-bolt flange. 7. Install the hanger pin on the intermediate pipe into the corresponding rubber grommet. Install the Banks intermediate pipe onto the factory 2-bolt intermediate pipe outlet using the factory hardware.
