The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the “Accessory Installation Practices” document. This document covers such items as:- • Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). • Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). • Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). • Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document. 1. Prepare for Installation. (a) Verify kit contents (b) Wear Safety Glasses. (c) Raise Vehicle . (d) Caution Muffler might be hot 2. Remove Rear Bumper Fascia (a) Remove (2) Phillips head screws (A) from both sides of the rear fascia (Fig. 2-1). (b) Remove (7) push pins (A) on edges of fascia (Fig. 2-2) (c) Remove (2) Phillips head screws (B) from bottom of fascia (Fig. 2-2). (d) See Fig. 2-3 for removal of fastener (C). (Fig. 2-3) (f) With one person on each end, remove fascia from vehicle. Store in a safe place to avoid damage during installation. 3. Remove Vehicle Tie Down (a) Remove (2) M12 Bolts and vehicle tie down (A) from the left hand (Drivers Side) rear of vehicle (Fig. 3-1). (b) Dispose of bracket and (2) bolts. 4. Detach Muffler (a) Protect exhaust tip with a rag or protective tape during installation of hitch (Fig. 5). (b) Detach muffler from exhaust hangar (Fig. 5) 5. Install Bumper Brackets (a) Remove M8 bolts from the vehicle bumper beam, and install (RH) and (LH) bumper brackets with (3) OE supplied M8 bolts, each with a lock washer and a flat washer (Fig. 5-1). Do not tighten at this time. 6. Install Hitch (a) Lift hitch into place (requires 2 people) and install the (3) M12 x 35 bolts into the (3) weld nuts in the bottom of the frame rails (Fig. 6-1). (b) Loosely secure the middle bolts first, then the (2) forward and aft bolts on each side. (c) Do not tighten bolts at this time. 7. Install Drivers Side Brackets (a) Install LH Frame Bracket (A) to the side of the frame rail using (2) of the M12 x 35 bolts (Fig. 7-1). NOTE: Excess body sealant may require removal of sealant before continuing installation Protect any bare areas with 3MTM Autobody sealant. (b) Install LH Support Bracket (B) to Driver’s Side of Hitch (C), and to bottom of LH Frame Bracket using (4) M12 x 35 bolts. Do not tighten (Fig. 7-1). (c) Fasten LH Support Bracket (B) to LH Bumper Bracket (D) using (4) M12 x 35 bolts. Do not tighten (Fig. 7-1)

Toyota Venza 2009-2010 1 D isconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 1 Unclip and remove the trim panel to the right of the shifter. ( Figure A) 2 Remove (1) Phillips screw from the bottom of the climate control then unclip and remove the climate control. (Figure B) 3 Remove (4)10 MM bolts securing the radio. Note: You will need a universal swivel head socket adapter to get to the bottom left bolt. (Figure C) 4 Remove (4) Phillips screws securing the factory radio to the a/c vent panel. (Figure A) 1 Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. (Figure B) 3 Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra or AXXESS. Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. 2 Slide the aftermarket head unit into the cage and secure. (Figure C) 4 * Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio. DIN HEAD UNIT PROVISION WITH POCKET Reassemble remaining radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly. 5 6 Snap the factory vent panel/Radio Housing over dash cavity. (Figure A) 1 Mount the ISO Brackets to the head unit with the screws supplied with the unit. (Figure B) 2 Slide the head unit into the radio opening until the side clips engage. (Figure C) 3 Snap the Trim Plate into the Radio Housing. (Figure C) 4 * Note: Refer also to the instructions included with the aftermarket radio. Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document. 1. Vehicle Protection. (a) Set parking brake. (b) Remove the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-1) (1) Protect the fender before starting. (2) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when removing cable. 2. Vehicle Disassembly. (a) Disengage the clips and claws and remove the passenger side door scuff plate. (Fig. 2-1) (b) Remove the passenger side cowl side trim as follows: (Fig. 2-2) (1) Disengage two (2) clips and remove the cowl side trim.

1. Pull vehicle into service bay and access radio/center console. 2. Disconnect both battery terminals. These cables must be disconnected during installation to insure proper initialization of the DICE module when the DICE when it is connected. 4. The Shift knob needs to be removed by rotating it counter-clockwise. The trim plate around the shifter also needs to be removed. Clips on the side of the plate hold it in place and easily unsnap by lifting up the back of the plate. 5. The plate can be lifted up but will still be hinged in the front, underneath the radio. Move the shifter through the gears to allow the plate to be lifted up. Once the plate can be lifted remove the screw holding the side panels in place. The panel will now be held by clips only and can be unsnapped by pulling it way from the center console. 2 1 2 3 4 5a Make sure the key is removed from the ignition. If vehicle is equipped with keyless ignition, make sure vehicle is OFF. 5b 3 6. Remove any screws holding the radio in place, so the radio may be fully removed. The arrows indicate the location of the 4 screws (2 on each side of the console). After the screws are removed only clips will be holding the radio in place. The entire radio with navigation (if applicable) can be pulled out. 7. Connect the vehicle specific cable’s 8-pin molex and iPod Docking Cable to the DICE module. The correct plugs on the DICE module can be identified by matching it up with the connector or by looking for the label on the bottom of the module. connector 1/8″ AUX Dock Cable Vehicle Specific Cable 6 7 5. Shown is the CD Changer harness from the back of the radio. The vehicle specific cable will be interfacing from this point. Some radios may have the connectors in a different order than shown. Match up the DICE vehicle specific cable to the connector on the back of the radio. 6 b. If the vehicle is equipped with Sirius/XM satellite radio, then this connector will already be occupied.
